JYD was a great Rocket, was knowledgable about the game, and maximized his ability. It would be great to have him back. The Kiss of Death, the look on Joe Kleine's face, the way he would have thrashed Danny Ainge...

I like Thibodeau. He's the key for Yao's progress in the past years. Why the new coach wants to kick him out?

That would be a huge loss for the Rockets. Looks like Elie will be an assistant after all for us.

explain this to me...thibideau does a great job with yao. he has improved dramatically since his rookie year with thibideau teaching him and we are letting him go? a rocket insider told me that the hang up is that cd fashions himself as a big man coach and wants to coach yao. since he has retired he needs something to do. the insider told me that was one of the reasons jvg got fired...he wanted thibideau to coach yao without cd's interference but les insisted. if that is true, how dumb are we. keep the proven thing with thibideau. why doesnt yao say what he wants and demand thibideau stay?

thibideau is not getting sac job, but adelman wants cd to work with yao not thibideau...cd made so many bad trades and now he is going to cost us the guy that helped yao the most.

cd is fully capable of working with yao, he did it with dream and that worked out just fine.

the minute van gundy was fired i knew thibideau wouldn't be back. i hope he gets that orlando job now that it's open.

This is posted by Pryuen right after Game 7 loss about Yao's coaching arrangement if JVG leaves. It's arranged even b4 Adelman is hired. So, I dont know why cd working with Yao has anything to do Adelman.

Moreso, Adelman has the right to choose his assistants so his coaching team can carry out his coaching philosophy thoroughly. TT may be a good assistant, but if Adelman doesnt feel comfortable to work with him, Adelman has all the rights to choose his assistants. Did JVG bring in all his old knicks for the coaching personnels?

And your insider is very crappy. This is street news for a month.

If CD was able to coach the Dream I can see no harm in him coaching Yao. Besides TT made Yao into a robotic post up player and I am sure JVG had a hand in getting Yao to play that way.

So Yao is going to forget how to play because an assistant coach is leaving?

The more people that show and train YAO the more diversity he will have. I believe he is smart enough to cull out what knowledge (skills) he needs or don't need!
