Proud to say I don't really fit any of 'em.

So many of them can be applied on this board though... and very spot-on.

Hmmm I'm probably a 1, and a 3. On the other hand, I could probably name a lot of Stans (people who defend their fav player no matter what) on this forum.

#8 and #11 fits many posters who were T-Mac only fans that with conspiracy theories on Adelman or Morey vengeful plants to destroy T-Mac's comeback and not give him playtime. There are still a few of them hanging around.

i think it changes depending on the situation. last year i was a tanker i guess. i knew there was no hope for a championship and would rather have seen the team get a great pick than endure another meaningless first round elimination.

however, this year i think i'm back to being a homer as i believe this team is maybe 1 piece away from being a title contender. of course they may not get that piece and thus not be a contender, but those are my homer/inflated hopes for the season.

And Homer doesn't belong in the list. Everybody talks up their favorite team. Why else watch sports at all? Just to enjoy watching sweaty men for no particular reason?

I am #8. I think this list is secretly commissioned by Stern to silence internet fan discussions.

Type 12: The "Love/Hate Complainers": People who like to monitor ESPN, SI, Yahoo and other national sports media and complain whenever insufficient credit is given to the Rockets or their players and whenever such outlets are deemed to be possibly "dick-riding" rival teams or players on such rival teams by ranking them higher than the Rockets or Rockets players.

    Example:

Haha. That's a universal quality. You can hate the Lakers and still be any of the categories.

How can you be a casual racist if you watch the NBA? Oh, nevermind, I forgot that Utah Jazz fans exist.

    2. The Pessimist – As miserable as this fan usually is, you wonder why he bothers to root for his team or how he’s managed to avoid taking his own life by this point. Every win is meaningless because it’s only a matter of time before the season goes into a death spiral. This type of fan may actually be attracted to bad teams because they help validate their natural state of mind. See: Warriors fans.

These are the real fans right here...support your team during the good and BAD times. if u watch a warriors home game last season you would know...fans cheer on every possession, every game.

plus warriors are fun to watch. GO WARRIORS

The #6 side of me is constantly looking for that edge (even to the point of reading Hollinger) to insure that the #8 side of me doesn't make me drop basketball forever. I'm ashamed to say I follow Tim Donaghy on Facebook.

(I feel like I'm in intervention all of a sudden).
