This has to be equally horrifying: From CNN.com Man killed when hair catches on roller coaster car Sunday, August 17, 2003 Posted: 8:25 PM EDT (0025 GMT) LANGLEY, Washington (AP) -- An amusement park operator was killed Saturday when his hair got caught on a roller coaster car, pulling him up as high as 40 feet before he fell, back-first, onto a fence. Doug McKay, 40, was spraying lubricant on the tracks of the Super Loop 2, a ride at the Island County Fair on Whidbey Island, when his long hair got caught on a car full of fairgoers, sheriff's spokeswoman Jan Smith said. "It basically scalped him, and he fell and landed on the fence," Smith said. McKay, co-owner of Paradise Amusements, based in Post Falls, Idaho, was pulled between 25 and 40 feet into the air. Paradise Amusements had set up rides at the Island County Fair, located about 30 miles northwest of Seattle, for the past three years, Smith said. Smith said grief counselors were on hand but that the fair continued after the incident.
I work in the building that the elevator is in. This elevator has been shut down 70% of the time over the last month. If I remember correctly it was down all day Friday afternoon. I rode up it Friday morning when I came into work. Then on Sunday the service elevator across from it malfuntioned and was going up and down 9 floors untill the police could stop it 15 minutes later and there were people in it; They were Lying on the floor of the elevator FREAKED out. I will not discuss any other details out of respect to the deceased.
That makes no sense. If that happened then it would only have been his hand or foot that was trapped...wouldn't it? I mean, thats WHY you use the hand/foot right? To make sure the doors open up again and allow to walk through. You know, it really is okay for you to say that he walked through the closing doors, while expecting the presence of his body to open up the doors again...which it failed to do. Thats probably what happened. Its a good thing you yourself have stopped running through closing elevator doors. Thats like trying to beat a train at a crossing...very stupid.
