    See-BS drama machine.

271 (with NM) is more accurate. Who cares what Kerry gets.

I'm serious, Rather needs to call it a career and move to So. Florida.

NBC showing now why they put OH in the "W" column...

Bush has a 123,000 vote lead in Ohio with 96% reporting. This is over; after the last of these ballots are counted, Kerry has to stand up and tell the guys pushing this to back off and condede this election.

Congratulations on a Bush win, and I do not doubt your numbers, but let's not compare Bush to Reagan.

Reagan won 49 states out of 50 in 1984 and rightfully so.

Plus, comparing Bush to Reagan is like comparing Tom Green to Tom Hanks.

I am fairly positive that Bush won. But for drama sake these media men are dragging this out. Larry King wants to know if he can go home and go to sleep.

i was wondering if the higher turnout along with the population increase would give the winner the most popular votes ever. looks like it will.

I think the big story is that the huge turnout turned out to not benefit either candidate, dispelling the rumors that a huge turnout would help Kerry.

Also, as I expected, my age group (18-24) didn't turn out. You can lead a slacker college kid to a Michael Moore movie, but you can't make him vote, I guess. I didn't expect a huge turnout, but I have to be honest, I did expect a larger turnout than 2000, and early returns are reporting that the same percentage of voters as the 2000 election (10%) were in the 18-24 range.

You won't hear any gloating from me because that's childish, but I do think that this message sent a clear message considering the fact that Bush is the first candidate in a long time to win a MAJORITY of the votes and not just a plurality. Hopefully this will allow the country to move closer together.

Rather is practically saying Kerry will win...wtf?

Either he is right, or the other media outlets have it figured out all wrong...this is hilarious!

Don't be hard on your demographic though... just think of it this way....

10% of a bigger turn out = a bigger amount of 18-24's showing up... The vote was better attended by ALL age groups, categories, etc.

Good job! My wife is still in the 18-29 demo... (17% in 2000 and 2004)... the biggest increases were in the over 45 crowds.

And NBC said that the "Evangelical Christian" vote makes up nearly 25% of the voter turn out. So, Bush did a better job of solidifying, and energizing his base.

I'm in the 18-24 age group as well and am very dissapointed that more didn't come out. I don't care if they all voted for Bush, they need to vote.

How hard is taking an hour out of your life to do early-voting?

That's funny. I've never been more disappointed in the American people. Or more disgusted.

I don't care what you think of John Kerry's leadership skills.

George Bush is a danger to the safety of the American people.

    He has lied to you.

There is serious evidence that he used foul play to win the first election.

There are repeated instances of Bush's incompetence, arrogance, and idiocy.

He is a trigger-happy, warmongering jackass, and his "unilateral" action places the US in the crosshairs of every terrorist organization that has come into being since our scattering of Al Qaeda.

    And he's being overwhelmingly elected.

I have the most horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. I didn't think there was any way America would be stupid enough to subject itself to this again.

I'm hoping that I might still be wrong. But it's not looking that way.
