Apparently, the citizens of Boston were given the choice for either their senator or their baseball team to win. Obviously they choose what was more important and least likely to happen. Im going to take the W win with as much class as possible and give him a mulligan for the mistakes he made on his first term. I hope he can get down to business, fix our mess in Iraq, and bring back fiscal conservatism back to the country. I hope he takes advantage of the republican majorities in congress and passes bills that focus more on financial than on social issues. Yeah, the gay issue matters to a lot of Americans, but is it really worth our time? I hope everyone takes Jeff's advice and acts civil and mature. Conservatives are supposed to have class, so I expect immature taunting to be at a minimum and reserved only for those classless few who absolutely need to gloat to satisfy their self-worth. Likewise, I hope the liberals take this loss as well as they can and accept that under the circumstances, post 9/11 and the current war, their weak candidate did much better than expected.
I really believe the people have spoken tonight. They understand the importance of Iraq in the War on Terror. They understand the importance of tax cuts in reviving an economy. They understand what it takes to protect our nation. Now you have a stronger Republican Senate. You have a stronger Republican House. You have a President who does not have re-election on his mind. NOW you will see progress. Progress on economic issues, on social issues (i.e. Judges being nominated), and on foreign policy issues. Terrorists are scared s***less right now as they know that Bush has the people's support to kill them. This win feels fantastic, it really does. It validates what so many conservatives have been saying for so long. It feels great.
may I add, CNN is doing a great job in trying to keep their viewers from turning off the tv. A fricken green state? its obvious Ohio and New Mexico is going to Bush, stop pulling this out and just let the last few Kerry and ABB supporters lose hope and get some sleep. give em the dagger and let them get on with their lives!
Rather is going senile, Ed Bradley seems to not be able to comprehend how Ohio is not carrying Kerry, and Lesley Stahl just looks absolutely stunned.
For the first time in a long, long time, I hope you're right. I'm glad you feel great, but for the sake of being a gracious human being, I hope you don't push the dagger too hard in the backs of the liberal members in the forum in the sake of revenge. I'm sure they feel crummy enough and I feel for them, but i'm ready to move on .
