Righfully so. If both parties fielded the same or similar idiot, Dems have an uphill battle while GOP can count on their core voters. The Rockets are innocent and relatively virtuous while Trump is anything but. That is the main difference. Trump is an extreme A. Silver with the exception that he needs to be re-elected and is sitting less comfortably. Yes, he is more hated but with his core voters he can rule rather smoothly. The Rockets lack the numbers of national core stans.
That may be true, but the American people won by getting Trump out of office. Republicans may not see that now, but history will tell the story of how Trump nearly ended American democracy. Of course his corrupt children can still get in there and run, and he has set the standard for the next candidate that emulates him.
