Even with the polls going down the drain, Trump wasn't supposed to win, his time has come to an end.

Well, I guess the Incumbent got some president bonus and he was apt at mobilizing his voters, still always thought he was done after Corona, everyone outside of the US thought so too, just not the US citizens themselves.

so i wonder how much trump stock goes up or down after the lame duck period..hes got lots of time to either make himself look good and maybe even try for 2024 but most importantly saving face and legacy..kicking and screaming on way out will be what every one remembers....people do like comeback stories though

if you watch fox as i have been reluctantly doing last few days trump stock is still high and fox cruz graham gingrich all have trumps back.. he can keep it or his to lose it seems..

but once declared ... done dead in water ..fox and repugs that back him are expecting him to NOT act like a baby and throw a tantrum?

ingraham asking for 'grace and composure' from trump lol you tell me how thats going to go ?? ok sure

Americans - from what I have read and learned here- almost always vote their president twice.

MANY are socialistophobic. And the Democratic party has a socialist new wing that to the eyes of the average american will bring the country to communism and turn them into Venezuela.

And most of all, don't underestimate POPULISM.
It is easy to see things from outside, but this nation has been slowly poisoned. Like many others before them.

But even then 74+ million people went to vote against Trump

NOT against the GOP but against Trump personally.

Many of them were conservatives who were scared of communism, who have been poisoned by populism, but even then they went to vote and bring down Trump.
In the middle of a pandemic.

I would be very proud if I was American today.
Proud that my people stood up against fascism and protected democracy.

    Because don't kid ourselves.
With Trump and his politics the country was two steps away from dictatorship.

But they stood up against it in time and saved their country.
    They are trully blessed.

I'd reckon about 85-90% of these people are voting "R no matter who" because of god and/or guns.

There's almost nothing that can be done to win these people over.

They are firmly entrenched culture warrior Theocrats and the best you can hope is that they stay home.

The rest are probably economically desperate.

The factory left their town in the 80s or 90s and its been all downhill since then. Both Republicans and Democrats have turned their backs on them.

Trump offers, at the very least, soothing rhetoric and false promise. Democrats tell them to learn to code.

    Its not Socialist, its Progressive.

I don't recall any of The Squad calling for government takeovers of industry, just a more democratic distribution of wealth. And frankly, for the last 50 years law has been written by lobbyist paid for corporations and the super rich. Why is passive income taxed at a lower rate than earned income? And there are 100's of other tricks and tax dodges hidden in the system.

Its the same people that lied and delayed facts about cancer and smoking, lead in gasoline, Clean Coal and the rest of climate change issues. We need to end the tyranny of the lying lobbyist. That's Progressivism: best data, best ideas, best solutions, for the most people.

This is the retrumplican position... no evidence, but attacking our American election process and ultimately the democratic will of the American people because, well, they want trump to maintain power.

Bingo...and raising minimum wage isn’t going to help with the last part. Need to get a handle on inflation, on rising costs everywhere, on the greatly increasing wealth gap. Until that happens, more and more people are going to continue to get left behind.

Dems have to figure it out because Republicans don’t care and are perfectly willing to make this a culture war so that the rich on that side can continue to make more money. They have to get the message across when they are trying to pass things and combat the Republicans. Instead, like the stimulus bill they passed...nobody hears anything except it’s $3M and some of the crazy things in it. Even smaller bills such as the election security bills get passed and sit on the Senate desks. Dems have to get on TV, on the internet, in print, even FOX, and hammer home what they are trying to pass...and not just the Green New Deal. And it has to be a lot of them...don’t just send one person to everyone to try to sell it...send many.

They also need to get on the same page, or at least stop airing all their dirty laundry out in public. Progressives snapping at moderates, moderates snapping at progressives, both snapping at the newcomers from the right. Take it behind closed doors, duke it out, come out with a fairly consistent message. AOC had a great tweet yesterday about how potential Dems need to campaign instead of pointing fingers...and then she turned around and pointed fingers at the newly turned Dems in the Lincoln Project...with no data to back herself up with. The former CIA girl who got on the call yelling about “defund the police” and other more left slogans and chiding the more left aspects of the party...that ain’t the right time for that...I know you’re angry because of results, but say that crap in private...especially because you have no data likely backing up your claims. You’re all on the same side right now...keep your allies...don’t force them out...we saw some of the result of that in 2016 and look what happened.

But, the main thing, is messaging...they have to get better with it...have to. If they can do that, they’ll have no problems come Election Day.

We got a long way to go to tear down the oligarchy that borderlines kleptocracy every 8 years.

Maybe that only happens when we default our debts...

Trump made huge inroads with minority groups, but lost big ground in the white suburbs of places like Philly/Detroit/Atlanta

His New York brawler style offended their sensibilities enough to vote for a tax-hiking invalid.
