Donald Trump will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever concede. Never. Ever. His ego won't allow it, and he has a pile of legal trouble awaiting him once his fat ass is dragged out of the White House.
And now we can focus on the two senate runoffs in Georgia. As happy I am on the Biden win, if the Dems can somehow pull off two wins and control the senate, I would be over the moon. However, I understand The Republicans will be favored.
This isn't really true, I don't believe. For example, in PA, they believe Philly turnout will actually only be on par with 2016. In 2016, Clinton won Philadelphia County 584k to 108k. Biden is winning it 554k to 125k so far. That number will go up, but it's possible Biden gets *less* votes in Philly than Clinton did, while Trump gets more - and he'll win it be smaller margins. Biden flipped the state by losing the rural areas by smaller margins. Across the country - and why you're seeing no gains in the House/Senate/local races - you had a ton of Biden/GOP voters. Georgia, for example, was won because of Biden/Purdue voters. These are people voting Republican in all the downballot races - but voting Biden over Trump.
GOTV works on the margins - it doesn't flip 2%. These numbers are highly distorted because Dems registered most of their people in 2018 while the GOP didn't due to low interest. So the GOP had low-hanging fruit to register since they did a poor job in previous years. As I mentioned in a previous post, all of Abrams' efforts in GA left Ossoff losing by about the same margin she lost by in 2018. What won the election was Biden/Purdue voters - GOP voters crossing over to vote for Biden while staying with the GOP in downballot races.'
The strategy is with Trump out, the only people truly motivated to vote in the run off will be democrats.
This is a big deal yeah. A lot of Trump's base might be dejected too, we've seen a lot of Trumpers mad at the GOP for not backing Trump strong enough, Dems might be energized. It will be interesting too if Trump hurts his own party. For example, Stimulus bill. People need it. Now. Needed it yesterday. Will Trump care to work on that in the lame duck session or will he be more focused on his attempted coup? I think we know the answer to that. Won't be a good look and Abrams has proved a valuable ally. Should be an easy sell to the people of Georgia. Mitch is going to have to get Trump in line here...good luck.
If you look at the Milwaukee turnout and ATL turn out it looks to be very true. There ARE people voting Biden and downballot red, that would offset black voters voting blue though.
