We're not suppose to be on opposite teams. One party had a great night. The American people lose no matter who wins because we are so divided.
Not default as in bankruptcy but the normal political process yes. Very much want traditional winners to lose, nontraditional candidates to run and win, traditions have brought this country nothing but enriching those who abuse those traditions while eroding rights from the people. Traditionally two parties, fack that too. So yes, i want a revolution because the same way of doing things helps corporate and political interests and facks the people. But you guys(both party members) stick to your parties and traditions that have brought you nothing and actually taken away things from you. Yea go ahead and keep doing that sheep.
Yes on one level it was gracious. But he said, "you guys had a great night" - my point is that it's a bit sad that we are on "opposite teams" so to speak. As if Democrats and Republicans are sports teams we root for. I don't like that. It's not knocking him but the state of affairs in general.
This will probably end up in its own thread, but here's a Washington Post bombshell: WaPo: Woman Says Roy Moore Initiated Sexual Encounter When She was 14, He was 32 Before this story broke, only one Republican (Jeff Flake) was openly opposed to Moore. You know, the culture war hero who was removed from the Alabama Supreme Court for refusing to take down the 10 Commandments monument and saying that Muslim Americans shouldn't be eligible for office. We'll see if pedophilia accusations is what finally makes GOP break ranks with this guy.
Hmm... this will impact the Alabama US Senate race... emphasizing these are allegations. WaPo: Woman Accuses Roy Moore Of Sexual Encounter When She Was 14 http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewi...ng-sexual-encounter-when-she-was-14-years-old
I understand what you're saying, but the truth is that the country has become so polarized that we are on opposite sides as political parties. I remember when the polarization wasn't remotely at the level it is now. Members of both parties might ardently "fight" on the floor of the House or Senate, and then get together with their families on weekends for a BBQ or some other activity. In other words, they were friends "off camera." That was certainly the case in the Texas legislature in the past. My significant other worked with members of both parties and told me about it. She often admired several of the GOP members. No longer. She retired a couple of years ago from a high paying executive position working for the legislature. She simply couldn't stand the atmosphere any longer, or the members of the majority party she had to work with. GOP members suddenly moving from moderate positions on many important issues, to extreme positions because they feared a far-right challenge in their primary, funded by sources like the Koch brothers. Not kidding. It had to be really bad for her to leave an important position that influenced a lot of legislation.
It wasn't as if I was saying I am on the opposite team. I was just giving props to the posters before me who were bashing Trump supporters.
thats just precious...youre a special snowflake arent you! also, im no clinton lover...feel free to search my posts and see what ive said about the clintons over the years. youre starting to sound like trump. "I think nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world. Nobody knows more about taxes." "I know more about ISIS [the Islamic State militant group] than the generals do. Believe me." "There is nobody who understands the horror of nuclear more than me." "I know more about renewables than any human being on Earth."
He's all about the 10 Commandments being put up in front of the court. Maybe he thought he was living during the Old Testament
