Crist just gave mccain the kiss of death. "I know it was you, John. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!"
Seriously. Nice little jab at McCain for picking Palin over a man who was qualified to be on the ticket.

Great decision by Gov. Crist, who chose to serve the people of his state, regardless of party, rather than pander to his own political party. Predictably, he gets hammered by various GOP politicos and talking heads. From the Blade Runner, he gets a thumbs up and some respect. Thank god McCain didn't pick Crist. John decided to play the fool.

It was all good but I like the one spot near the end when the screen split into 9 parts for McCain's "my friends".
I'm inclined to agree with you. I think the popular vote might be fairly close, but the electoral vote will be a landslide, unlike 2000 and 2004.
I think it will be at least a 5% advantage and could be as high as 8% for Obama. American's don't trust McCain......and his running mate is a joke.... DD
More tightening from tpm's composite national poll: • Gallup: Obama 51%, McCain 44%, with a ±2% margin of error, unchanged from yesterday. • Rasmussen: Obama 50%, McCain 47%, with a ±2% margin of error, compared to a 51%-46% Obama lead from yesterday. • ABC/Washington Post: Obama 52%, McCain 44%, with a ±2.5% margin of error, compared to a 52%-45% Obama lead from yesterday. • Hotline/Diageo: Obama 49%, McCain 42%, with a ±3.3% margin of error, compared to a 50%-42% Obama lead from yesterday. • Research 2000: Obama 50%, McCain 44%, with a ±3% margin of error, compared to a 50%-43% Obama lead yesterday. • Zogby: Obama 49%, McCain 44%, with a ±2.9% margin of error, compared to a 49%-45% Obama lead from yesterday. Adding these polls together and weighting them by the square roots of their sample sizes, Obama is ahead 50.2%-44.4%, a lead of 5.8 points, compared to the 50.6%-44.4% Obama lead from yesterday.
Obama surges in Colorado, makes gains on Electoral Map "Older voters in Colorado have started to break Obama's way." CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. "Two weeks ago he was losing the over-50 crowd by a couple of points. Now he has a five-point edge among them." Not a good sign when our senior citizens aren't pulling for their own.
The mccain narrowing (according to pollster 538 etc) is apparently matching with undecided Repubs making peace with McC, which i guess would tilt to the red states.
That's why what really matters are state polls. It doesn't matter if McCain is gaining support in Texas or Utah or if Obama is picking up more voters in California or New York. What matters is what's happening in Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, etc. If the race isn't tightening there then it really doesn't matter.
Did anyone see Obama's interview with Charlie Gibson? Sounded like he'll give the Sec. Defense spot to a Republican if he were elected Hagel?
But has little effect on the electoral college map...so while McCain may get within 5%, it is looking like an electoral route. DD
Didn't see the interview but Obama has hinted repeatedly there would be several Republicans in his cabinet. The retiring Hagel is an obvious contender for a spot at defense.
That's one thing I don't like. Principled Repubs could have made a stand on any number of issues, but always caved when it mattered. Now that Bush is the lamest duck, they start speaking out more forcefully. Cowardice... and I include McCain and Hagel... should not be rewarded.
