Linsanity has gone back to normal now. Actually he has played ok so far, 12 points, 3 steals, 4 asissts and only 1 TO. He is supposed to be schooled by Tony Parker.

it really depends on who he plays with, i think if he's on the court w/out melo/amare but rather chandler, jefferies, novak, his stats get much better

Agreed. NY looks like a better team with Lin-Shumpert-Novak-Jefferies-Chandler than any lineup with STAT and Melo.

STAT might well change his name ot STATUE, that's how he looks on defense anyways

So basically Lin plays better with average to below average players.

He'd be a beast in Houston!

You forgot to add: Against mostly below-average teams.

Had a nice burst at the end to make his statline respectable.

I thought he played well against the Lakers, no? I didn't watch it, but everyone was raving about how he defeated the great lakes. But that's just one game.

    Derrick Fisher.

also, this was before everybody started trapping him.

    also, before Melo came back.

I know everyone is ragging on Carmelo Anthony and while some of it is deserved, he definitely was not the problem this game. That major problem was Amare's defense or lack thereof. Without Chandler, Amare was the key defender in the paint and on pick and roll, a task he failed at horribly. Whether it was shumpert, lin or davis on toney parker or really any player running the pick and roll, Amare literally moved out of the way instead of picking up the ball handler. When he did bother to pick up the dribbler, it was either half hearted, ineffective, late or simply unable to slow or deter anything. The Spurs were getting into the paint with ease, due to Amare's (and Novak a few times) horrible job defending the pick and roll.

Lin had 8 points in garbage time, bringing his line to 20points 4 assist 3 steal 1 to, but was pretty much a nonfactor the entire game. Not that it matters but Lin spent the majority of the game guarding Gary Neal, while Shumpert who started picked up Parker. Shumpert an excellent defender had no chance, because A. Toney Parker is damn good and B. Amare Stoudamire is damn bad at defense and C. Chandler was out.

People don't seem to get that. This was why overhyping him was really bad for the kid.

He played v. bad teams, that didn't really game-plan for him. And he had the ball in his hands all the time.

This team isn't going anywhere. Melo is vastly overrated. Lin is a decent role player. Amare has regressed greatly.

And tonight they played without Tyson and Jefferies, their best and second best interier defender.

Lin played OK today. He was under control and had several nice passes, which his teammate failed to make the basket.

Nobody in this Knicks team can defend Parker one on one. It has to a team effort, tonight it was not there.

As for Lin, he must work on several things this offseason in order to be a great PG: his outside shots and PnR defense, just name a few.

Since he will be a restricted FA, it is not necessory for him to stay in NY. A lot of team he can go to. Knicks will be stuck with Amare and Carmelo for quite some time. Playing with these two guys has no future.

Melo finally got some shots to go in, but it took him 24 attempts.

The problem is he's just jacking it up. he shot 1 free throw. 1.

the Knicks look pretty close to what they looked like pre-Linsanity now. the effort and defense has been taken down a few notches. it's not fair to blame carmello but with that said he's their max player and it's not as if he can't be a great defender but he just seems to take a lot of plays off on defense. he played great D on Lebron but it's as if unless it's a marquee matchup like that he's a non-factor on D

Everyone keeps saying the Knicks have fallen back to earth.

I don't know maybe it has something to do with the strength of their most recent opponents? They played a lot of bad teams on their run. Seems pretty logical to me. Even the Houston Chronicle predicted this. They also said when they started losing in March, Melo would be blamed. Honestly, who didn't see this coming?

They beat Dallas and LA without Melo and Amare.
Leads you to wonder if this is the Knicks falling back to Earth or more so horrible team chemistry...

Seriously Amare and Melo look like trash...
