So you are saying you do not have "an agenda"? I recently exposed your bias for those few that might not have been aware of it. Still bitter? Are you saying Mathloom does not have "an agenda" with his posts? What does that even mean? People post their opinions, and so do I. Some make more posts than others, so what. At least I back my opinions up with facts, others are constantly "outraged and offended".

You and the crew make a big fuss over semantics of how widespread the rumor is. Do I know if 30, 40 or 70 % of the people there believe it? No. Do you know? No.

Contrary to what Mathloom has been lying here, I never said that "most" believe it. The very first news article I posted said exactly the same thing I still say: The governor picked up on a rumor (that is crazy) and said it is possible. But it is common sense that the governor of a region does not usually say things that are not at least the opinion of a lot of people.

At the very least, he must have relied on his statements falling on fertile ground of irrational Israel hate and scapegoating. And that is what I am criticizing, and my point stands, no matter how much the detractors here try to argue about the difference between a rumor or a "widespread" rumor.

I was on a mobile phone before, so I could not address this BS properly (thus also the "Blah Blah Blah Blah" response which is all I could muster to type).

Please go back in this thread and prove where I would have said "most people believe it". I said I believe it is widespread, and I still think so, because otherwise the governor would not have picked up on it. As I said, none of us knows whether it is 30, 40 or 70 %, but even 10 % would be ridiculous, and "widespread" for something that is about as believable as the existence of Chupacabra.

I expect you to either prove that I said "most people believe it", or I expect a full and sincere apology for calling me a liar twice.

If you do not do it, I expect you to say WALAHI, lol.

You were arguing against a position that you invented and that I never took. I said exactly what you here say I "should have" said, except that I added the word widespread.

You were, in fact, the one who did bend the truth to try and make a point, not I. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and will assume that you just misread my post, and am giving you the opportunity to apologize and retract your "liar" statements. Actually, I think once you realize that I never said that, you - in contrast to people like Hydhypedplaya and adeelsiddiqui who would rather bite their index finger off than retract something or apologize, even if it is obvious they were wrong - might well be intellectually honest enough to retract your incorrect statement. My higher respect for you than for some other posters would be confirmed if you did.

By the way, completely random sidenote, but I just noticed that Google indexes Clutchfans at amazing speed and Clutchfans shows up really high in the rankings. I tried to research if there is any data on how many Egyptians actually believe this Mossad shark theory, and the third result was Clutchfans. I noticed the same thing on the NBA Dish in that thread where I started the rumor that Caron Butler is 1/4 Filipino .

I guess that means Clutchfans is a very relevant discussion board .

Thank you for admitting you have no idea how many people believe the rumor. There was no need to add in that it was widespread which paints a certain picture, and one that isn't based on any known fact.

If you want to pat yourself on the back for supposedly exposing a bias then go ahead. The fact that you did nothing of the sort shouldn't stop you.

As far as being bitter, I'm not now nor was I ever bitter of anything that's been said of me on this bbs. So feel free to say whatever you'd like. It really doesn't matter.

This statement is truly idiotic. Maybe you should think about it again.

Is it truly idiotic? Thanks so much for pointing that out to me. It was based on your post in which you claimed that you didn't know what percentage of Egyptians believed the rumor.

Feel free to let me know any times in the future when I make a truly idiotic statement. That would be great.

As to FranchiseBlade's idiotic statement that I don't know how many people believe the rumor - unless you have in the meantime invented a machine for me to simultaneously look into everyone's mind, filtered by country, how the **** would I know exactly how many people believe it. Who knows, maybe there will be some polls published that will give an indication of how many people in Egypt actually believe this utter bullcrap. But I doubt it because the state-run media will not be so stupid to put a percentage number on stupidity and further embarrass the country like that in the whole world. It is enough to plant the rumor and have it out there.

Possibly cause it yourself by throwing dead cattle into the sea after Eid and then blame the Israelis. Well done.

I researched a bit more and this is apparently part of how the rumor started - someone first put it out there on state television.

To me, and this is where opinions might differ, the mere fact that someone promotes this rumor on national TV and then not just someone, but the governor of the region picks it up and says it is possible is indicative of a mindset of scapegoating. And the governor would not do it if it wasn't something he thinks would fall on fertile ground with the people in his region.

    Killer sharks 'planted by Israel'

An Egyptian official has claimed sharks that killed one person and injured four others at a tourist beach in Egypt may have been planted by an Israeli spy agency to hurt the country's economy.

    PHOTOS: Shark terrorising Egyptian resort

The regional governor for South Sinai, Abdel Fadil Shousha, said claims Israel planned the attacks were not "out of the question", The Sun newspaper reports.

A German woman snorkeler was killed on Sunday after her leg was torn off and four others were mauled over the past week in waters near Sharm El Sheikh's Hyatt Regency.

"What is being said about the Mossad [Israel's spy agency] throwing the deadly shark in the sea to hit tourism in Egypt is not out of the question. But it needs time to confirm," Mr Shousha was quoted as saying.

The theory was first heard by an expert diver from Sharm El Sheik who was interviewed on Egypt Today.

Diver Captain Mustafa Ismail said the sharks involved in the attack, two of which were caught by authorities last week, were oceanic whitetip sharks and do not live in the waters around Egypt.

When the interviewer asked Ismail how they entered the Red Sea, he said: "No, it's who let them in?"

Ismail said a small shark had been found by an Israeli diver in Eilat — another resort area and busy port at the northern tip of the Red Sea — with a GPS device planted in its back.

"Why would these sharks travel 4000km and not have any accidents until they entered Sinai waters?" Ismail said.

But a local marine biologist said it was "sad" Egyptian national TV had helped spread the theory.

Professor of marine biology at Suez Canal University Mahmoud Hanafy said the GPS device did not indicate a conspiracy because tracking devices were often used to study marine life.

"Here in Egypt we put these devices on turtles, in danger of becoming extinct, so that we can watch their behaviour, see where they live, feed and lay their eggs," Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram quoted Hanafy as saying.

"It is sad that they made a person whose only knowledge of sharks comes from the movie Jaws go on national TV to propagate this mumbo-jumbo."

Last week officials told locals and tourists it was safe to go back into the water after they captured two sharks they believed were behind the attacks.

Local divers filmed video of a shark swimming in the area just hours before the first mauling — but it is not clear whether that shark has attacked anybody.

The shark on the tape is missing a chunk out of its tail which experts say could cause it to act aggressively.

There is speculation the sharks were drawn to the area after cattle and sheep brought in for last month's Islamic feast of Eid al-Adha died at sea.

    ------------------------

Anyway, I further searched the web and have, in fact, found quite damning evidence that this shark was indeed planted by the Mossad in those seas.

Rather than start a new thread, I will put this into this thread, as it is another indication of the irrational and relentless hate against Israel in the region.

Northern blaze delights many in the Arab world

    By KHALED ABU TOAMEH

Many Arabs also strongly condemned Egypt and Jordan for agreeing to help in extinguishing the blaze, according to Arab media outlets.

Many in the Arab world seem to be happy with the big fire that has been raging in northern Israel over the past few days.

Judging from comments on the blaze from readers in several leading Arab media outlets and websites, a majority believe that God is “punishing” Israel for occupying Arab lands and killing Palestinians, especially during Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.

Many Arabs also strongly condemned Egypt and Jordan for agreeing to help in extinguishing the blaze.

Others called on Israel’s enemies, particularly Iran, Hamas and Hizbullah, to seize the opportunity and try to wipe Israel off the face of earth. Only a few readers and viewers expressed sympathy with Israel over the tragedy and loss of many lives.

Following is a sample of the comments that have appeared over the past few days in the Arab media:

“May Allah punish all Arabs who helped put down the fire.

We pray to Allah that the fire will grow and spread to oil wells in the Arab world.” “O Allah, burn them [Jews] before the Day of Judgement.

O Allah, destroy them and all the enemies of Islam.”

“May Allah take revenge against them and displace them together with our corrupt [Arab] governments.”

“This is the right time for Iran. If one fire has caused panic in the Zionist entity, where are Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hassan Nasrallah? And where is Syria? One rocket could set thousands of fires.”

“Allah gives time, but never neglects. The Israelis are being punished for their deeds. We hope their end is nearing.”

“Sounds strange that Arabs are sending aid to our enemies. Allah is punishing the Jews by making the fire. No military force or US veto can stop the fire.”

“Thank God for this new Holocaust and shame on the Egyptian authorities who rushed to save the Zionists while continuing to lay siege against our brothers in the Gaza Strip.”

“Thank God for burning the Jews the same way they burned our Muslim brothers in Palestine.”

“To Hizbullah, Hamas and all Arabs: This is a golden opportunity to get rid of Israel. The sea and fire are in front of the Jews and weapons are behind them.”

“This fire is the result of prayers from our prisoners held in occupation jails. The fire of Hell will be even stronger. May those Arabs who are helping the Jews burn with them in Hell.”

“Allahu Akbar! This is an effective weapon. We call on our Palestinian brothers to set fire to all forests.”

“How many prisoners did the wardens torture? Allah has answered the prayers of the oppressed.”

You see, he knows the facts, but chooses to ignore them.

You know what I do when there isn't a machine to tell me the unbiased truth?

I do one of the following:

    1) Present an opinion as an opinion, rather than as some "best possible fact" scenario. or

    2) I STFU.

You still haven't apologized for your lies about me supposedly saying "most people" believed this rumor.

I must now assume that you intentionally and maliciously misrepresented my statement.

I won't bother because there is written proof in both cases and I have faith in CF members.

I'm not going to go back and forth with your stupid "yes I said MUCH rather than MANY" pleas.

Everything is out in the open. That's how I like it. Transparent.

Exactly. Everyone can see that you CLEARLY lied.

You said literally I said "most", when I never said that.

    You lied.

Can you say WALAHI and swear to God that I said "most"?

    No, you cannot.

    Liar.

    You lost any respect.

You are a disgusting liar and I will keep referring to you as such until and unless you retract your false statements and apologize. You are right, people will wonder and perhaps some will visit this thread and see you for what you are. I did not think you would stoop this low. Everyone can see that you lied.

FranchiseBlade, here is your once-in-a-lifetime chance - I am addressing you as you are obviously a man who is "fair and balanced" and points it out when someone "editorializes" and says something different than what was actually said.

I am aware that I said "widespread" and that you viewed this as "editorializing", etc. I disagree - it still is my interpretation - but point taken.

FranchiseBlade, now please read this quote:

Mathloom clearly said that I said "most Egyptians believe it" and then called me a liar for it.

FranchiseBlade, as a "fair and balanced" observer and someone who does apparently not like it when someone "editorializes, most likely exaggerates and thereby leads people to believe one has an agenda" - I am only asking one thing of you: Please review this thread and answer me one question:

Did I say that most Egyptians believe this rumor? Yes or no?

    Thank you in advance.

You guys are showing your true colors once again, and that is a good thing.

Especially in disgusting liar Mathloom's case, it is pretty clear that the veil has been lifted - but what do you expect from a person that hopes for someone to live in fear for the rest of his life over a drawing.
