I haven't seen where it says it's widely believed by the population.

ATW, can you show us please? I'd hate to think you're lying.

The governor did not "invent" the theory with Israel being behind the shark attacks, he is referring to rumors in the population.

Wow, now you've gone and trashed your initial theory as well.

So government officials don't claim this, they just claim that there is a rumor to that effect?

All the while you show that you are a liar. You know full well that a rumor does not mean most people believe it. You are just trying to extend this as long as possible instead of saying:

"actually that's true, it's a rumor among a percentage of Egyptian people, I don't know the percentage, and the governor regurgitated it."

It's really low of you to hijack this unfortunate and tragic story to fuel your prejudiced rhetoric.

    Blah blah blah blah.

It's hilarious how defensive the islamist crew here gets.

    Fact:

    1) The rumor is around.
    2) The governor, of all people, says that there could be truth to the rumor.

The "prejudiced rhetoric" comes from the governor, whose side you seem to be taking here, which is not surprising at all.

It is UNBELIEVABLE that you say that I "hijack this unfortunate and tragic story to fuel prejudiced rhetoric", when this is exactly what the Egyptian governor has done, and I am merely quoting an article that talks about it. Not I hijacked this story, the Egyptian governor did - and you and your crew are blaming me, but not him.

    Typical.

You and your little buddies here can attack the messenger all you want, fact of the matter is that a ridiculous rumor is going around in Egypt, and people up to the governor actually think there could be truth to it.

That says a lot about the mentality of certain people who will always turn to Israel as the convenient scapegoat for everything, even for shark attacks.

The Pavlov's dog - like reaction by always the same group of posters - you, trustme, adeelsiddiqui, NMS, etc. only confirms this.

    Mathloom,

Isn't it hilarious how he groups posters together, even though you are the only one that actually responded to his claims...

You almost tripped over the keyboard while giving him a pat on the back...I knew you had some issues, did not know short-term memory was one of them.

Are you jealous of people that can form normal social bonds? Does it hurt that you can't understand social norms?

So you take back your claims?

Those are not the things you were claiming.

Fact: rumor is around, the one governor says there could be truth to the rumor.

Lies: Most Egyptians believe it, Egyptian Officials have come up with this theory.

Can you see why you are being called a liar?

While I agree that many Middle Easterners have a tendency to blame the strangest things on Israel, I, unlike you, don't need to bend the truth to make the point.

I also won't say "blah blah blah" in one thread with a straight face, while simultaneously accusing someone of evading a conversation in the same manner in another thread.

Fact: You can't have it both ways.

Reality: Only the prejudiced try to have it both ways.

The rumor may be around, that is different than your claim that it was widespread. It shows you editorializing, most likely exaggerating, leads people to believe you have an agenda with what you are posting.
