I think we start a 3 Guard lineup. KPJ-Green-Gordon and KPJ guards the 3 on defense. I love Tate but we just don't have enough shooting right now.
Christopher needs run, too. The small sample size is more than intriguing. Before the G league talk and all, we need to get a baseline to measure the growth. maybe third the time with Brooks and Christopher getting a 1/6th each
I don’t really care who starts. Is the goal to win games? I think EG and House need to be shipped out to give minutes to players like Brooks and Christopher.
Again, I think, for KPjr and the rest of the team's development, we need to put EG next to him for awhile...until he's dealt. Jalen will still get big minutes, but Eric can play off Kevin...doesn't need the ball in his hands, and plays both ways. Need some continuity out there. It's not about winning now, but we need some semblance of order out there.
Maybe Augustine and sengun can do a better job of facilitating the ball to green in good spot because it’s not happening with KPJ and Good. They treats JG like he’s Ryan Bowen: invisible. jalen green has assisted KPJ more than the other way…
The goal right now is to build chemistry for the future, not necessarily win games in the short term. It’s hard on the fans but that’s where the Rockets are as a franchise at the moment.
Agreed. Let KPJ learn how to be a point guard surrounded by the vets. Let Green learn how to play in the NBA as a 6th man gunner. Let Sengun and Garuba anchor the bench. Build an identity. I think it will just take some time to sort out the roster with our plethora of players.
I still feel that KPjr needs EG starting next to him for awhile...with JG coming off the pine. It's about KPjr's development...as well as Green's.
KPJ has a team option next season..... while Green just started his rookie contract. Green has the brighter future but the timing revolves around KPJ. Decision time for Wood and KPJ coming up soon....
That's why I wanted EG next to KPjr to START the season. Play next to him for awhile providing stability/continuity (off ball and at BOTH ends), while showing the League he's healthy and his J is wet. I'd still like to see that for a minute. Don't get me wrong. I agree with you. The clock is ticking on EG.
Green having a brighter future is yet to be seen. As a 2 way combo guard, KPJ in theory has the higher ceiling than an allegedly offense only pure SG. Both could hit their potential, both could fall on their faces entirely. Only time will tell.
I have been saying this since day 1 and it is still true, both KPJ and Green would be better off if this were the case, that way Green could handle more of the ball when he is in and so could KPJ and they have a solid vet presence to help guide them in the NBA game. DD
