    JV, great post!

I agree let's hope for the best with Eddie and the Rockets.. It is always easy to act tough and advocate simple soloutions.

I agree with everything except the inside scorer comment. He's a jump shooter. JVG told him he wanted to see Griffins head under the basket more. Griff told him that hes not comfortable with that but he'd do his best. Too bad we dont get to see what could have been. I agree that he would be just what we need right now though. Someone who plays better D than MoT and can continue to play that D outside the pain unlike Cato.

I like what SA has done with the makeup of their team. They are having a tough patch now but once the new players settle in, they will be a force. It's much easier to take their current losing when you consider that they won it all just last year.

It's highly likely that he will be going from a hospital bed to a jail cell.

Actually, I think it is highly likely that he wont. Chances are if convicted that he will get loads of community service and a fine. Doubtful he will see any jail time. That's the way it tends to be with sports figures these days.

Don't be so sure about the jail time... It is Sugar Land isn't it?

Disciplinarian style coaches and their staffs often have a way of affecting problem players. My hunch is Hubie will straighten out Bonzi and I can easily see JVG, Ewing and Thibodeau getting Eddie Griffin on the right path basketball-wise....but

First and foremost, Griffin will absolutely have to put his personal life in order. No pun intended, but the ball is truly in his court.

Griffins' value can be debated to great length, but he is without argument the most mobile "big" on the Rox "roster".

I am doubtful of Griffin's ability to ever meaningfully contribute again to Houston.

This is not because of his current problems. People do, after all, get their emotional/legal problems worked out. Everyone's got a friend who used to live in the toilet but is now doing fine.

But the lack of hard work is another problem all together. Griffin is lazy, and he's not so athletic that he can get away with that. He has tons of talent that will never be developed. You can teach him to not do stupid things... but it'd be much harder to teach him work ethic.
