"Swoop and poop?" That's awesome coming from somebody that disappears every time he's challenged and then shows up the next day to make jokes about people's names.

This really will be my last post to you here, texxx. Enjoy it. Because then I need to get on to celebrating the Edwards endorsement.

    On trade:

Regardless of the current proposals from any candidate, could I just get an agreement from you, in principle, that America should not give tax breaks to companies that fire Americans so they can hire people in countries where there are no safety standards, no environmental standards and no labor standards? Because if you can't agree to that, then there is nothing stopping (and much encouraging) corporations from circumventing the minimum wage and all American regulatory agencies in order to increase profits, resulting in massive loss of American jobs. You stand with billionaire and trillionaire CEO's. I stand with Americans.

    On taxes:

I would agree to oppose increased taxes of an sort on Americans making less than 200K. Would you agree to support necessary increases on those making more than that to settle our deficit and pay for the unnecessary war you've supported even while 70% or so of Americans oppose it? Didn't think so. You don't care about fairness, you don't care about the poor and you don't care about the middle class. You care about advantages for the rich. You care about getting yours and screw everybody else.

As for the Democratic primaries, you're right that the party has been split in two. We've been cursed with two great candidates. Bummer for us. We have two different candidates who have each received more votes and more money than the Republican nominee. All the while, winning three off-year elections in reliable Republican districts. It totally sucks. But we are uniting now. And we're getting ready to run against four more years of Bush's policies. I'm so depressed.

Wow. That shows a total lack of historical knowledge.

Do you really think there might be over 100 ballots at the convention before the party settles on a compromise candidate as happened in 1924?

Do you think a potential nominee will get shot down amidst a contentious battle over a war and the ultimate nomination go to a person who didn't even campaign in the primaries but controlled enough delegates to win as happened in 1968?

Tell me, what group is analogous to the Copperheads of the Civil War era?

    How about the Dixiecrats?

I thought Rice had some decent historians on staff.

I think we might get a better picture of Obama as a uniter of the Democratic party after Hillary leaves the race.
