well Griff was reportedly wearing the #41 jersey in the summer leagues...maybe Rice can just give eddie 'sniper' and call himself 'skeet shooter'

Iceman is the nickname of George Gervin, no? I think he should have an original nickname.

I say we remove the "big" from "The Big Chill"
I think Eddie "The Chill" Griffin sounds better.

    Eddie the Eraser sounds nice...

Sniper just sounds totally ridiculous. Nicknames should have some sort of ring to em, Eddie "the sniper" doesnt have any sort of flow to it.

    how bout 'The Boss' ?

(as in the Springsteen-ian usage - ie

Bill Worrell: Nash drives into the lane.. Griffin blocks the shot!
Finley comes up with it.. GRIFFIN BLOCKS IT AGAIN! Ming grabs
the board, Rudy calls timeout.. Well Calvin, 'The Boss' is really
    putting on a show tonight!

Calvin Murphy: You got that right Bill! How many blocks 'The Boss'
    got tonight, Bill?

    Bill Worrell: Let's see..

Calvin Murphy: He GOT to be getting close to a triple-double!

Bill Worrell: That was his fifth block of the game, and we're still
    in the first half..

Calvin Murphy: You see? That's what I'm talkin about! The Boss!
He's the Boss Man! That's what I'm TALKIN about! Eddie is The
    Boss out there tonight Bill!

Bill Worrell: By the way Calvin, Edna Glupney sent us another box
    of chocolate chip cookies..

Calvin Murphy: That's what I'm talkin about Bill! Edna is The Boss
too! Now don't you go eatin em all up on me now Bill!

Bill Worrell: Calvin, you ate them all before I could even get one!

Calvin Murphy: That's cuz I'm 'The Boss' Bill!

Bill Worrell: Well, there's only one Boss here tonight Calvin, and
that's Eddie Griffin. He's completely taken over this game. on
    both ends of the floor.

Calvin Murphy: I got to see if I can get 'The Boss' to give me a
    raise, Bill!

Bill Worrell: Ha ha Calvin. Well, we're back from time-out...

    and so on..

I can already hear it ;)

    EDDIE "MONEY".

you gotta love it...surprised nobody has thought of it.

p.s.- i love "Deep" Eddie, but that's a reference only true Austinites can appreciate.

    Nero,

I liked your skit. Pretty spot-on, I'd say.

I don't know if The Boss works. He isn't Springsteen. And on his off nights (he's sure to have some, being so young), opposing players will just get in his face with, "'The Boss?' 'The Boss?' How about 'The B!tch?' Cause that's what you are, I made you my B!tch, my three-dollar Bee-Yoooooootch!"

I kinda like Sniper. He's quiet, deadly (and "Sniper" is better than "S.B.D.")

The Big Chill is my favorite so far.

How about Stiletto? Long, thin, sharp, deadly...?

I vote for "The Example". Eddie plays the game hard without all the trash talking etc, like he did when Amare talked to him in the Summer Pro League game.

wendell alexis who used to play for Alba Berlin is known as "the iceman" . I don't think eddie should have that name too, but then again it's just germany so who cares;)

I kinda like "the big chill"
