The reason Rockets took Brooks with their pick is because Suns were ready to take him at 29 if he was still available.

I am still neutral to this pick. I will wait and see. At 26, you cant ask for much and if it pans out then great.

Although, after looking at some of his videos, I have to say he is probably going to be our best finisher. The angles he uses on the glass are amazing...very similar to parker and Ginobili in that respect. He also looks for physical contact instead of avoiding it like Rafer.

If he becomes a productive player then he will be incredbly popular, league wide and especially at home. Unlimited marketing opportunities with a 7-6 guy and a 5-10 guy on the same team running the show.

The bounce pass from Yao from the top of the circle or high post to a cutting Brooks for a slick layup over a big guy will be a regular highlight...

    Fun Times....

Purchasing League Pass will be worthwhile for Rocket fans now....

Wow he seems to have a little AI in him. I tell you the more I see of this kid the more comfortable I am with picking him. I tell you what everyone is worried about him having to guard players like Parker, Williams and Nash. How about them having to guard him? Maybe chasing him all over the court and around picks will slow them down a little at the end of games as well.

After watching that video above... this guy reminds me of Chris Paul... Relentlessly attacking the basket at will and doing whatever he wants... This guy can flat out shoot the 3 ball with ease...

I'm with you. The videos make Brooks seem like a thinner version of Chris Paul, except he can shoot the ball. We'll see how much of this translates to the NBA level.

This kid can flat out play. I just find it surprising that some of us are already condemning our draft picks even before you see them play.

I hope he turns a few heads next year. You know... this might actually be a steal when its all said and done. Have some faith in the FO.

yeah. I think most were just shocked/surprised more than anything to see a pg taken, especialy one of the JL3 mold. I admit, i was too and am still in he dark about where they go from here, but that being said he was a very good college player and certainly is talented. Now its like we are just in limbo to see what deals are done and whose all shipped out.

i was a little more dissappointed in the aussie pick, i thought herbert hill would have been a decent gamble especially at a position of need

We have to see how his skills translate onto the court before making a judgment.

I'm talking about Brooks.I have seen and I'm aware of Rafer's shortcomings.

If Brooks is a good player, his size won't matter at all. Just look at Earl Boykins impact on the offensive end. And Muggsy Bogues was known as a good defender despite being 9+ inches shorter than most of his opponents.

what the hell does that mean....ok, well if I was 7 ft 6, I would be dominating in the NBA too...what a ridiculous comment...

    He definitely has NBA range.

I also like the fact that he can finish with his left hand which will be important because when he gets into the paint he will have to be creative in order to get his shot up.

Lucas is definitely gone. Brooks is a faster Lucas with a purer jump shot.

actually, brooks doesnt have a left hand. he likes being on the right side of the court, even when he crosses left and he'll go back right so he needs to work on his left.
