this is the funniest thread title I've seen in quite some time. This rumor is bogus. ------------------ snap crackle pop

Los with Miami would be great. He gives so much enery to a team, like Mourning can do when he is playing, this is what they are missing! This would greatly help Grant in the middle, Los and Grant are similar in many ways. They know what hustle is!! ------------------ "Instinctly u recognize things, now take advantage of what u just recognized!".. Hakeem..
If we are going to dreamcast about a Miami trade scenario, at least let´s do it in a way that works for us and them. Suppose Riley decides he wants to play in the Webber sweepstakes next year. He could trade us Brian Grant, get Dream´s contract that expires at the end of the year, and that way, regain the capspace he was supposed to have to make a move at webber next year. Throw some cap-filler and it´s done. I would be willing to package even Mo in a deal like that if it was all it took to get Brian Grant. Hell, it makes more sense than trading Jones for Miami. Now, i can already hear some people saying "why give riley the cap WE have to throw at webber next year?" Because i still think that webber is a longshot for us, while with a healthy Zo, that´s not the case for Miami. Besides webber would rule the east. I would rather have Grant for the long run, a non ball demanding forward with average offensive skills but great rebounding and defense, than bet all coins on webber and ending up like chicago. ------------------ "Dream another dream, this dream is over... I'm not saying there is any possibility of this happening, but if there is an offer of Jones/Majerle/Ceballos package or the earlier suggestion of Los/Wiz trade for Jones with us waiving Dream to go to Miami, I'D DO THAT IN A SECOND. Chicago tried to get Jones this off season. Make Chicago part of the trade! Trade Jones to Chicago for Fizer and their first round picks this year and next. Maybe throw Drew to Miami also. (RealGM says it works) Including Dream, we gain over 20 mil in caproom to go after Webber, keep Mo. Use Chicago's pick to take one of Ming/Curry/Chandler/Griffin/Wallace/Wagner, our pick for Diop/Woods/Haywood/Dunleavy/Jeffries/Grizzard, take Morris with the Milwaukee pick, and get a steal in the second round, like Battier. If we got Webber, we could have: Webber/Diop/Cato/Collier Mo/Thomas/Fizer Anderson/Langhi/Morris Mobely/Wagner/Battier Francis/Norris or Webber/Woods/Cato/Collier Mo/Thomas/Fizer Griffin/Langhi/Morris Anderson/Mobeley/Battier Francis/Norris or whatever fill in the blank... Now that's a deep team ... that could go all the way in a couple years ... even if we didn't get Webber. ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know... This year Jones is averaging 19.2 pints in 39 starts on 45% shooting. and also just over 2 steals in 38.5 minutes a game
Sherlock, since it's only dreamcasting... I think such a deal might have to involve sending Crawford and Fizer to Miami (if it could be made to work). Neither play much for Da Bulls, if at all, and that time will need the youth soon. An interesting scenario, dumping Eddie Jones. "You Can't Go Home Again." ------------------
I still haven't heard a good reason for the Heat to let EJ go. Anyone? Anyone? ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
"....and get a steal in the second round, like Battier." Are you sure about hiim going that late? Mango ------------------ We neeed more threads about Dream! Test Your NBA Trade Ideas 1. Mango: Just looking at some mock drafts, and ratings of available players. Who knows who will come out, and who won't. This is an amazingly deep draft, probably the deepest since the Dream/Jordan/Charles draft of '84. According to some ratings, Battier ranks in the 30s, so yes, with Chicago's second round pick, he could be available. Look at where Chris Porter slipped, and how well he's playing... ROXTXIA: You could be right, and that would work ... I just want the draft picks in this deep draft, and the cap room. HOOP-T: carlit0 posted a link from bskball.com with the rumor which claims the possibility of trading Jones, and Pat Riley being upset with him, to the point of trading him. I think that is where all this is coming from. I haven't seen anything else besides that article. Has anyone else seen verification of this besides bskball.com? Hottoddie: Anything that would clear cap space, I would be in favor of. So, the idea that we could let Dream go, in lieu of being able to trade Wiz, Carlos or Cato contracts (ala SAR and Reeves) and get lottery draft picks as well, for someone like Jones, who we don't need, would be awesome. ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know... Your using NBAdraft.net as your rankings? They are probably the WORST mock drafts in all of the internet. They dont consider team needs, and they pretty much use preseason scout rankings. Battier has been listed as a 4-7 pick on every mock draft i have seen. ------------------ President of the Charles Barkley fan club...Oh he retired? When?
Porter hasn't been quite a steal. 6 ppg, 3 rpg, and 1 apg. Nice player, but thats all a nice player. ------------------ President of the Charles Barkley fan club...Oh he retired? When?
Ricky Davis. Yep, you're right. TheRocketGuy (who knows? he could be right, or partially right) believes that our Miami deal would involve sending Cato and Los to Miami. I don't know how to make it work with Cato's BYC, maybe our trade exception, where we take on last-year contracts that we can waive. Mason is untouchable. Period. Jones? Likewise. AC Green, Majerle, Ceballos, and Ricky Davis equal about 11 million. Only Davis has a contract lasting past this year. We could use a back-up 2, if Shandon stays at the 3. The others we can waive or use in another trade. But I'll leave that idea for another time, since the Hakeem issue is so way up in the air. Walt + Los + Cato = app. 11 million. Walt can fill in for Majerle (not defensively, but hell, you'll have Cato/Grant/Mason). Majerle will likely retire after this year anyway. AC Green + Majerle + Ceballos + Ricky Davis (+ Miami #1 pick?) Use Bryce Drew trade exception. Somehow I think this could work. Waive Majerle and Green so that Miami can take'em back. Use Ceballos as token back-up 3. Or use him in trade to other team, if another trade can be doctored. Straight up, this would set us up for another deal or for going after big game in the off-season and signing our own guys to nice deals. Sorry for the dreamcasting but until we hear what's really going down, I hypothesize. ------------------
Forgot to mention, although I've posted elsewhere, Ceballos can't be traded til tomorrow and Green, not til the 31st of January. And therocketguy says there was never a deal to send Houston to Miami. I take it with a grain of salt. ------------------
