It's great that a guy by the name of Hippieloser has to counsel us how we can better spend our time. I love the offseason. :D

I'd rather have Matt Bullard. Better personality and I bet he can still drain those threes better than Mad Max can hit a 15ft J at a 38% clip and play defense on the court, at this stage in their age.

Yep, definitely, let's give Bull another shot.

If Eggie comes back, then the board should comply too.. Troy Baros, YoYao, and the sheep loving posters (RoyD and our favourite New Zealanders) should be welcomed back too!!

I really hope he can come back and if he successfully does good on him and if so i would love to think it would be with the Rox, but odds are against him and us on both counts... as Lucas said it about his head and maturity not about his playing ability... if he sorts out the former someone will offer him a chance......

I have one question on Eggie, if he gets back to the league will the memo still be in exisitance about his D???

Thanks, Smegster. I just get very frustrated with Rocket "fans" who forgive a Laker (Bare Bryant) and won't forgive a former Rocket (Eddie). That to me is a double standard. And they profess adoration for Bryant and hate for Karl Malone, when both deserve equal spleen.

Of course, I guess one can look at it this way: Bryant hit the mark with his gun and Eddie missed with his. So the former is obviously the better shot. ;) Then again, Eddie's case is adjucated where he can continue to play pro basketball. Bare Bryant may well have shot his last NBA airball.

Of course, he was playing on the post rather than at the three point line, where Rudy had him statione3d for 2 years. I saw him improve DRASTICALLY with post moves and footwork as the preseason went on and I believe he only would have gotten better over the course of the year.

Maybe not, but I would be willing to bet he was in the top 4 or 5 PFs in the league from distance. That is the versatility that EG brought, the ability to stretch the opponent's 4 out to the 3 point line because he made a third of his threes (which is just like making half of your short shots, points wise).

In addition, EG was pretty darn good defensively and showed a LOT of promise as a shotblocker (7 blocks that night in NY  ). EG has a LOT of talent and could be a heck of a player and at the league minimum (all he will command from anyone) would fill the hole left by Cato nicely.

obviously he deserves a second chance. if he were to succeed, what an excellent story of redemption that would be. i'm rooting for him.

What gets me is that people take what he did personally.

He was a member of our favorite team, not someone who stole our candy.

Come on now, why not give him another chance.

It is a no lose situation.

I am for whatever makes MY ROCKETS better, and EG is worth a look.

Just watching that clip of him in a Rockets uni, I couldn't help but get a little bit excited.

There's a big part of me that really wants to believe he'll be able to put all the nonsense behind him and move on with life...

i dont know if he will command a league minimum i can easily see a franchise giving him a bit more than that, not a whole lot more, but some more than the league minimum to sign him. I really hope that he comes back to the rockets and the rockets try to match any reasonable offer that other teams may give him. i think eddie will be more willing to come back to the city he once played and he does have respect for the organization here that did so much to get him. also it would be the best place for him to continue to develop while contributing significantly on both ends of the court and to top it all off, play for a winner.

I really hope, and I do mean really hope to see eddie back in a houston jersey next season or the season after. He was already a decent defender and rebounder on his own, imagine how much he will improve defensively with JVG. A lineup of : a decent not turnover prone- PG, T-mac, Nachbar, Eddie and Yao in a few years will be hard to stop imo

CD give this guy a change again, it could be one of those risks where even if you lose it wouldnt like you would lose a whole lot, but you would have plenty to gain

Its funny how you support a player that shoots at his girlfriend but have such disdance for one who has turnover problems.

By candy do you mean cocaine? Other than the drug reference, I support your post. I'm in favor of bringing EG back, and would go the edge of hell, proclaiming Eddie as my favorite Rocket, knock on the front door, drop a bag of flaming poo (irony?) on the doorstep, and then bolt out of there like white lightening.

I would have the same support for Steve...I don't wish Steve ill, I just don't think he is right for a Yao oriented team.

I believe in second chances...I gave Steve 5 years of them.

You said "Good riddance" the other day to SF.

So let me get this straight, Steve is a basketball player, that tried his best (without a doubt), but wasn't good enough ........GOOD RIDDANCE .....not only was EG not good enough, but he didnt try his best, and he was a bad citizen to boot .........and you want him back on the team ...................

Hmmm....ok DaDa...... ill never understand the method to your madness :)

BTW ..EG was given a 2nd chance ......and a 3rd chance ....and a 4th chance ....he blew them all
