He would have still sucked hard........

Eddie was a wasted pick and still will be if picked in the first round of any year, any era. He would be great though in the WNBA.

I don't mean to bash you but I also wonder why in the world do we need another EG thread. He is such a stale subject by now that this belongs in the NBA forum, not the Rockets.

To the subject matter, clearly Jordan hindered Kwame Brown's development. Problem is, it seems Jordan wasn't the real problem, it was Kwame himself. They babied him so much last year it was disgusting, and he still quit on the team during the playoffs. He's another mental case and has a lot of issues to work through. It's possible he does fine during part of next season but at some point his cracks will show again. I wonder how patient Kobe and Phil will be with him. It's possible being patient won't do any good.

SF & Cat didn't help Yao's basketball development very much at all IMO. Both were ballhogs who had trouble getting Yao involved at key times. On a personal level, maybe they helped him adjust to the city of Houston and to the rigors of NBA life.

I have given EG more leeway than most. And I was willing to hang on longer than most probably.

But honestly, I have totally let go. And with Stromile Swift here, I really dont think much about Griffin. Swift will give us everything we wanted out of Griffin. Swift doesnt have Griffin's 3pt shot, but maybe that's a good thing. Swift will give us the rebounds and the blocks at the 4 position that we needed. And Swift looks like he plays more physically and with more fire/passion than Griffin and I think that will be a plus.

Considering he probably did more for the Rockets than Eddie, I tend to agree.
