I do know that shooting at women is not really condonable unless his or his child's life was at stake.

Fact is that EG made a mistake in having a kid in the first place. EG doesn't have his own life under any control whatsoever. What the hell made him think he can handle parenthood?

EG's decision making as a pro athlete, father, etc. is severely poor. I have no sympathy for people who put themselves into bad positions constantly.

Face it, when you have trouble following you, you're not going to be cut much slack.

If this was the first incident with EG, I'd be 100% behind him. This is at least his 4th big negative public incident that EG has been in for the last 3.5 years. He needs to get his life in order, whether or not I am being fair on him.

    FranchiseBlade,

I agree. Good sign of a leader. Coming to the aid of a teamate when he needs help. I was hoping one of his teamates would reach out to him.

BTW King911. You are right too. Most players who are decent human beings should come to the aid of a teamate. So what does that say for the rest of Francis' teamates who might not have stepped up and done what Francis did???

Give Francis some credit here. Geez.

Why don't you wait until the season begins... THEN maybe you have a point.

    Bassfly,

I agree that Eddie is really in a mess with family and personal issues. I don't even mind that he missed practices or preseason games for those issues. What I do mind is that he didn't notify the team. It would be better to let them know ahead of time or when the family emergencies happened, rather than just be a no-show. I've had to call work for family funerals and illnesses. It's not easy to do those things in a time of crisis when you just want to focus on the problems, but it's still part of being responsible.

DO you follow the rockets? Have you read the newspaper for th e past week? All the articles are generally posted on this page. They generally paint a picture of reality that is at odds with your fantasies of a team rending itself apart due to Satan Francis.

BTW, If you think Francis and Griffin have had comparable tenures on the Rockets, I suggest you switch to the cocaine that has been more thoroughly cut with baby powder, etc.

Maybe because the media doesn't really care to report that Mike Wilkes contacted EG?

Fact is the entire team could have called him, but the media doesn't care to report that. Opting to report that Francis did, since he and Yao are our biggest draws.

Don't let media manipulation fool you.

im still glad steve is backing up his teammate... im real proud of him, and his value in my book has gone up A lot, first he helps Yao adjust to the USA, and now hes helping a fellow teamate in need.

thx for the leadership francis, u have shown that u are the franchise, and a team leader....

o ya, yao ur great too....(i love all the rockets)

So now its a media conspiracy to make Francis look better than the rest of his teamates. Geez.

Whatever it takes to not give Steve credit for his good deeds I guess.

Where are the links that other players have contacted EG? If other players have contacted EG, have they also gone to Rockets management, like Francis did, in an effort to resolve things so the team could focus on basketball?

I never said that. I said they had similar PASTS. Obviously, EG has had more crap off the court. I even said that Francis has been a good guy off the court.

I suggest you keep your cocaine tips to yourself, it definitely seems to work well for you.

    Did I say that?

My point is that the media doesn't give a rat's @ss about whether or not Mike Wilkes or any other lesser known Rocket called EG.

Can you agree with me on that?

What is more likely to be a headline...

"Francis comes to aid of teammate."

    or

"Piatkowski comes to aid of teammate."

    Think about it.

I see, so they have similar pasts in that Francis didn't want to play for Vancouver. And by similar, you mean "dissimilar"

So you think that the media is more likely to wonder about Pig Miller or whoever calling EG than Francis?

    Ok, think what you want.

I mean similar, in that they both were considered character risks.

Obviously, Francis has been a better citizen and player than EG.

Francis was a character risk because.... he punched out his high school teammates all the time or because he went to junior college?
