As long as he takes care of his *personal* problems. Fine. Bring him back. But not before.

I hope he straightens his life. It was a good piece. I wonder if JVG will give him any consideration (or f LA will allow it)???

how nice would that be if he actually made a comeback and it was with the rockets.

maybe we could somehow have the last laugh at the nets anyways.

    :D

I hope he doesn't feel that way, even though it NJ was the only team to try and help him out.

I really hope the Rockets give Eddie another chance. JVG did wonders w/ Camby and Eddie has a very similar game. If JVG could help Eddie out, he could be a blocking machine (he already sort of was), but PLEASE GIVE EDDIE ANOTHER CHANCE.

I, for one, am pulling for him.

Hope to see him in a Rockets jersey again.

    seriously.

    I hope he gets back.

I'd like the Rockets to give him a shot, considering we sacrificed a whole draft on him. However if they don't, I'd understand why.

Eddie would have fit with yao pretty well. Good weakside shot blocker, Prefers to play a perimeter game, not sure thats a good thing, and was a pretty decent rebounder. Id be all for signing him for the minimum contract and see how he does in the summer league. It would be a great story if he made a comeback with the rockets. Sounds like he was pretty determined to make it back in the NBA and has turned things around. I dont think he would ever say anything like that when he was with us.

If he makes a comeback, I really, really hope the Rockets give him a chance. Certainly the fact he was a Rocket is a big part of it. However, the primary reason is that Eddie's the type of PF we need. Someone else already mentioned his qualities. All else that we need from him is consistent jump shot, a little more weight, and consistency on offense and defense in general.

Seriously, if they all played to their potential, a frontcourt of Yao, Eddie, Cato and MoTay would be fine. Add a star SG or SF, a sweet-shooting pass-first point guard, and a utility guy at the remaining position, and we're set.

Actually .. . I was curious where JVG's tough love mentallity may have contributed to Eddie's Demise.

I think Rudy coddled him . . and he needed it .. .

not Rudy and he goes ballistic.. . .so I was wonder
If the change in coachin . .the lack of a mentor
is what sent him down his path

Eddie showed fine shot blocking skills and was a better rebounder than Mo but he preferred to play all the time from the perimeter and he couldn't put any shots down in the low post.
We needed him to score in the paint and shoot as well but he wasn't good enough.
I hope he will be able to overcome his personal difficulties but I don't think he can do much for the Rockets especially after his relationship problems with team management.

Plus, he looks so cool in our new uni's. :D

But since we used 3 first round picks on him, I think its only fair to the fans that we give him another chance. Eddie showed good defense and rebounding skills, if he can develop a decent game around the basket, he could be a good PF for us.

Yes, JVG does have a tough love attitude, but maybe thats what Eddie needs. Just needs to come out and play some ball, keep his mind off his problems and create problems for other teams.

I also never got use a nickname I made up for him: "The Big Easy"

We dont need eddie to score in the paint since we have yao and MoT, he said it himself he prefers a perimeter game and thats fine, but he needs to hit his J with a little more consistancy. If he could shoot like troy murphy it would be good, but he has better shot blocking ability and pretty good rebounding. Im tired of hearing the 3 waisted picks on EG, it was a gamble and it didnt pan out. I mean two of those 3 picks are utterl useless. Collins? Hes just a big body that shoots a low percentage. Cato even shot better then him when he plays at PF. 3 first round picks also means 3 guarenteed contracts and two of those picks were pretty low.

I was wondering when you were gonna twist it and blame JVG. Some people are just too predictable.

He should give Houston the first shot at signing him, seeing as we did give up alot for him. I hope he gets his life back together first though, and it looks like he's trying.

Maybe my name will work after all.

Would someone explain the fascination with Eddie for me. Assuming he does gets straightened out, is he all of a sudden a better player. Eddie was a great weak side blocker, average man defender, slightly above average rebounder (maybe average for his size) and poor offensive player. At his best, he could be another Marcus Camby with a better outside shot, which is good, but not a monster.
