You can't replace leadership. He's the heart and soul of the titans and always has been. That being said, The decision is understandable. We must go forward. Chris Brown is the more explosive back and must try to fill the leadership void as we march toward another superbowl.
This is sad, but part of the business in today's environment...I would love to have Eddie on my team, anyday... That being said, he should have no problem, although I'm not sure Chris Brown will be the answer, but only time will tell...
He should be cut, he has not been the same since Ray Lewis stole that pass from him in the Championship game. Eddie has been running on egg shells for 3 years. Later Eggie !! DD
It is the NFL....every team does that...and the players are well compensated. He could quit and go get a job in the real world any day he chooses. DD
This is basically what I meant when calling Bud a jack-a$$. I think it is good business to cut him since his production has been way down the last few years. I also think Bud comes off as an arrogant prick for just about anything he says.
Depends on whether you limit it to Houston Oilers or also include players from the two years of "Tennessee Oilers". I only know of five players (including Eddie George) who were still in the League who were also on the 1996 Oilers roster. I know there are probably some others who played for the Oilers prior to 1996 who are still in the League, though probably not that many.
He'd be a nice pick up I think. Who'd thought stephen Davis was gonna lead the panthers to the superbowl last year? It's the NFL you never know. You cut a guy that's been underperforming for a couple of years and next thing you know, he becomes a pro bowl RB for another team.
