I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet: Curry for Cato, Walt, Los, and a pick. Oh wait, Los doesn't play for us anymore...we lost all our trade bait! We might have to throw in KT now! Why it works for Chicago: Floyd gets the "center of his dreams" in Cato, plus a couple of other good 2nd (or 3rd, but who's counting?) stringers, while only giving up the guy they traded their best player for.
Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. I'm going to paste oily pierres post over a Bulls hangout so we can "consider" it and more...
Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. Chicago Bulls have a forum. Im going to email this to my friends so we can laugh about it and more.
Oh, Crispee isn't kidding about trading Francis. Somehow, he has gotten the strange idea that Mobley is a better player than Francis, because Francis has yet to perfect the fast break. Funny.
RM.... 1) I am NOT in a big hurry to trade Mobley, just thinking of ways to improve our team. Also, SG's are a whole lot easier to come by than legit big men. Curry isn't that yet, but he just might be...I also think that a lot of these trade scenarios that have us getting Curry for bench players, picks, and Cato are unrealistic. You've gotta give to get, and I think that Mobley is the best guy to move ( among legit assets) if we really want to take a chance on a guy like Curry... 2) Re: Francis as go-to guy....Agreed that Mobley isn't preventing Francis from becoming a go-to guy, but his presence makes the need for Francis to try significantly lower. I think it might be a long term benefit if Stevie starts working on that soon... 3) I wasn't suggesting we add Artest for his offense...He'd provide a defensive stopper, which we haven't got, and his offense isn't so bad that leaving him wide open on switches won't hurt other teams...Besides, one thing I think this team has enough of is scorers, and with Taylor I thought we had too many one-dimensional scorers...
Wow, didn't think this little post would garner so much attention. OP, This post was dedicated to you...glad you picked up on it. Very detailed explanation, which is why this is not out of the realm of possibility. Is it probable...no, but then I wouldn't have bet that we would have got the draft's best player (by many's standards) for three lesser picks. Then I wouldn't have thought we could have gotten Rice for Anderson. CD has made some very, very nice moves this summer. If Krause could bring CHI a couple of decent vets for Curry I think he might consider it. You're points about reduced options all around, might actually play to the Rockets' favor. However, it may mean we have to sacrifice some value (Mobley) with Cato to make it happen, but not necessarily. Seems I remember CHI was very interested in reobtaining the pick they promised us for Drew. Really appreciate the info, it was worth Dr. Nue's crack! Dr. Nue, "What is wrong with you?" Probably jumped out of too many perfectly good airplanes, drank to much swamp water, and worked way too many hours defending your freedom of speech...made me a little CRAZY! JAG, I think you injecting Mobley as possible bait is worthy of discussion. Mobes' is great, super attitude, yada, yada...but he is not a Franchise kinda guy. I'd bet is trade value is very high now and he does have one of our larger long-term contracts (although arguably cheap my current standards). The trade you proposed is interesting and personally I think has merit. Yes, its a gamble to bet that the Eddie's would become the next awesome 4 & 5 duo, but what potential it boads.
