If you are actually a Moochie Norris fan as your handle suggests, you might wanna rethink that. There is no doubt Moochie enjoys the occasional toke.
"Pot" smoking diminishes mental functioning. Most Rocket's players don't have any IQ points to spare. Would you be surprised to learn that many players on this team have serious substance abuse problems? I wouldn't! If that were true, it would explain much I have witnessed on the court this season.
That's exactly what I was thinking when I read this . Just what we did NOT need at this point of the season . One can only hope that it serves as a wake-up call to him.
I would suspend him for the rest of the regular season. Take a hard line approach. If they don't make the playoffs, he can only blame himself. This is just fricken unbelievably stupid. It is dumb enough to smoke pot, but to be DRIVING and smoking....what a moron. Anyone else rather have Richard Jefferson, or Rashard Lewis now. EG is a bust...and now he has been...BUSTED. What a loser. DD
I hate when fans intrude upon athletes, politicians, or just anybody's personal life. It is nobody's business what EG does off the hardwood. If he wants to get high that is his perogative and he'll have to deal with things like the laws arresting him. I love the Rockets, but each player is their own man and shouldn't and don't jave to live up to what each one of us expects. Be disappointed, not judgmental. Judge not, lest ye be judged.................
DD: Who said he was driving and smoking? It was a possession rap, not a DUI. Incredibly different things. Like the difference between driving drunk or driving with a six pack in your passenger seat.
Pole, I know we have our differences about other things, but leaving those aside, I couldn't help but comment on this post As someone who always posts about different alcoholic drinks, and obviously has no problem with someone getting a buzz now and then, I feel that you are being very hypocritical on this issue, unless you are strictly talking about adherence to the law.
Batman Jones, Do you live in a cave? How do you think the Cops discovered the weed if he was not in a car, and toking up. Maybe he was not driving....but he was IN the car, and SOMEONE was driving. If the pot was in the glove box, or in the ash tray and no one was using...the cops would not have arrested them. DD
This topic gives me a chance to think of marketing capabilities. The Eddie Griffin/Mo Taylor Stoned Celebriduck night. hey, maybe EG was actually drivin' over to Rudy's house to give him some new "medicine". I could believe it. not saying that Rudy T is a stoner, that is
I have a life. I don't live for the Rockets. Maybe that's why I'm able to criticize this situation. If I loved them blindly, I probably wouldn't feel this way. Oh, so that makes it okay? It's no big deal that Eddie got busted with pot? I hate Karl Malone, but the guy busts his butt on and off the court to make himself as good a player as he can be. Same with Kobe, and Michael, and many other athletes. Rockets coaches and management should be showing our young players that that's the right way to grow and find success (not just in sports, but in life), and should be encouraging and guiding them towards that. Eddie was driving. It was his car. The pot was in his car. In the United States, that's called posession. Even if it was being held by a passenger in his car, he's still in posession. -- droxford
Oh, will this be on Celebrity Cops? Hmm....If the Trailblazers, Lamar Odom, and Eddie Griffin (as well as countless others) were on Celebrity Survivor and they offered immunity or pot, how many wouldn't say pot?!?!
Alcohol destroys the liver. You can live without a few brain cells, but you can't live without the liver. Anyways, if the Bush nieces can smoke pot, then Eddie can, too.
Possibly, but equally likely is the ever popular "Driving While Black." Notice that none of the reports indicate exactly where on Richmond he was detained. Young Black Male, Fancy Car, rich white part of town, you do the math.
None of the Rockets should be smoking pot when they're off the court. None of the Rockets should be drinking alcohol they're off the court. What should they be doing? They should be eating healthy. They should be working out. They should be resting. They should be focused on making themselves better players and better people. Maybe, if they were being paid $40,000 a year, I would feel differently. But they're not. They're getting paid several million dollars. And for several million dollars of salary, they should put forth several million dollars worth of dedication!!! If they don't like the fact that their basketball career interferes with their personal lives, then they should pick a different career. -- droxford
Come on Eddie, you're smarter then that. GRice and Rudy need to buckle down on Eddie and make sure he gets help. I heard the homeboys he hangs out with are very trashy as well.
EG's shrinking trade value just went up in a puff of smoke. The Rockets should have traded this loser last Summer. Now it's too late to get anything for him. Raven
I finally found it, on sportingnews.com. Its true http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/articles/20030407/467484.html
