    I should have prefaced this post with the fact that Eddie has only been charged with "possession" of pot...not use. But, I think the the use probably follows.

    It's gotta be the retro jerseys. One freakin' game and the ghosts of Lloyd and Wiggins come back to haunt us!

    And another thing -- EG was pulled over for speeding. What's up with that? Every time I've ever fired up a spliff while driving, I ended up going 35 mph on the FREEWAY.

    Let me clarify.

    I think Pot is bad...very bad.

    However, what is really bad is driving around with POT in the car...that is not only bad, it is downright ignorant.

    If the Pot was in the glove box, and he got pulled over, they could not have searched the car.

    However, the unpaid speeding ticket gives them the right to search and seize anything in the car....

    Eddie is only 20, and yes, 20 year olds make many bad decisions.

    But this is not only a bad decision, it is just stupid.

    Ah well....for those who think Pot is good for you, I am sure you have some made up facts to back you up.

    Pot = Bad
    Alcohol = Bad

    Especially when mixed with driving.

    You pot smokers go on toking, and one day, you will realize that you will have to give it up to REALLY get anywhere in life.

    Of course, I could be completely wrong...I mean Clinton didn't inhanle and Bush snorted....ah you get my drift.

    :)

    DD: I, for one, never said pot was "good for you." The ones who said it might help his game are right. On some nights it might, on some nights it might harm it. Of course, that's assuming he PLAYED high, which no one's asserted he did. But no one has said it was good for you in general. Leave out the leaps of logic and hyperboles, please.

    Second, no one has asserted that Eddie mixed it with driving except you.

    Third, the list of people who have "REALLY gotten somewhere in life" while smoking pot is too enormous to recount. This is just another in a series of uncharacteristically ignorant statements from you when it comes to pot.

    Fourth, if you really believe that both pot and alcohol are bad and deserving of the posts you've contributed to this thread, I'll expect to see similar outrage every time a Rocket is spotted in a bar. You up for that? Didn't think so.

    Fifth, I like you and I think you're smart. But you ought to stay away from topics you clearly know nothing about.

    Sixth, I like you and I think you're smart.

    And that'll be it for me in this thread. Or at least I hope it will be.

    Why couldn't they have searched the car? When i was home in Houston a few months ago i was pulled over by a cop for going 59 in a 55(yeah i know tell me about it:rolleyes: ) The cop searched all up and down my car going over every inch of it, trying to find anything he could.

    You never know, this could be the wakeup call for Griffin that helps him to stop parting so much and work on his game more in the offseason.

    Yes they can. If you don't believe me, go take a drive through Bellaire at 4am and tell that b*stard that pulls you over because "there have been burglaries in the area recently", that yes, the beat up, piece of crap car you are driving really is yours.

    Eddie partying?!?

    Man...I remember him or someone saying that he's too young to party. He usually stayed in his hotel room playing video games. Ha. I can't believe that.

    They can do whatever they want. Trust me. Your best bet is to keep your hands visible and have your license and insurance out by the time he/she makes it to the car. Those b@st@rds.

    A dime. A pack of swishers. A hotel room. PizzaHut on speed dial. Snacks and fruity beverages. PS2/XBOX. Good times indeed.

    I'm sorry. I said I was done, but I guess none of you are reading the Chron site.

    EG was pulled over for speeding, the warrant came up, he was arrested, the car was impounded and they found the weed in a routine search (which they do with all impounded cars).

    That means:

    a. DaDakota was wrong when he said they'd only have found it if he'd been driving while smoking (which we all knew was silly to begin with), and

    b. His car wasn't searched because he was black. The people who suggested he might have been singled out for his race were wrong too. While I agree racial profiling still exists (especially in Texas) to a disgusting degree, even racist cops are likely to back off when they realize you're a hometown celebrity.

    Both wrong, law's still stupid and people are still overreacting to something that just isn't that big a deal.

    Damn, what's the use in being a celeb if it can't get you out of a speeding warrant. That sux. He must have zero charisma. He needs a "I'm a Rocket" decal on his window or something to help him out.
