Yeah, but he's the only one (w/ exception of MoT) stupid enough to get caught. It ain't that hard to keep it with yourself. You have to be an absolutel moron to get caught in the way he did.
I always thought Eddie had a good head on his shoulders. But with all these reports of him partying before games, hanging out with thugs, and now this, I really don’t know. Eddie better get his priorities straight this summer and work hard on his game or else he won’t be in the NBA for long. Superstars may be given some slack for off-court problems, but nobody wants a mediocre player that causes a distraction to his team.
I kind of feel sorry for Eddie Griffin. The guy has missed practices/1 or 2 games due to family reasons. His brother, who he really admired and loved, died. In as much as what he did was wrong, sometimes people do not understand certain people's circumstances. Family death, and divorce are things that can tear people apart. Sometimes you can see potential in people, but the loss of some one or something important would be something that affects him/her and he/she would not want to talk about it.
What Eddie did was obviously stupid; that's not the point of that statement. Yeah, he'll learn something from this: not to get caught next time. That's nice and all, but it doesn't solve any of the underlying problems.
Time to get rid of this kid, why? because he never learns, be it on or off the court. Let's start MoT.
With the exception of saying one pot bust has "ruined" his trade value, I agree with everything above. The people who make these trades know that about half the league smokes weed. It's not a dealbreaker. With regard to virtually every single thing you've posted about weed (in this thread and others), you've exposed your ignorance about it. And I really don't think you're an ignorant guy. On this subject though, you have no idea what you're talking about.
I was gonna learn to quit jackin threes, until I got high I was gonna learn to drive when the lane is free, but then I got high. But I'm still chuckin' clothsline bricks, and I know why- yea hey!! because I got high, because I got high, because I got high! da-da-da--da-dadada! heheh....someone come up with the next verse, can't get any worse than mine.
MAN NO WONDER EDDIE HAS BEEN PLAYING LIKE CRAP!!!! My theory is this: The reason why Mo Taylor used to suck and average only 2-3 rebounds a game as a starting PF was cuz he was smoking it! Then he got caught, suspended, and realized he had to quit after the humiliation. And I think Cato used to smoke it too! That would explain why he would lose the ball everytime he got in down low in the post. Look at the old games when Cato seemed out of it. Cuz I know he coulda played better D, especially if you've seen him before we signed him. He used to get 8 blocks in a preseason game! What I mean is he used to give it his all. (BTW, I mean his performance last year) I think all the other players are clean. I doubt they smoke weed. But Cato.... prolly used to
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic here. If you're not though, you're either insane or incredibly naive.
Jesus! It was a bag of pot, not kiddie p*rn! All you punks that Want him to be suspended are not rocket fans. You are pawns of a drug war that does way, way more harm than good. you are hypocrites. you are jazz fans. you should not be posting on a Rockets fan board. Rockets fans would not be calling for EG to be suspended (especially right now).
Big deal smoking weed is nothing everyone does it nowadays. Alot of NBA players smoke weed, alot more than you would think. Alot more kids smoke it too.
Well Kobe definitely doesn't. If he does, I'm amazed at how healthy and strong he is if he does... Francis...I hope not. But Cato. Maybe. Moochie. Maybe. Hawkins. NO WAY!!! Maddox. Of course. Collier. Bostjan Nachbar...Of course not! Yao Ming. . . I am sure that half the league does do some kind of drug. It's just society. Sad.
Kobe does not smoke pot, but Jordan does. But Eddie Griffin's problems have nothing to do with th' ganga. His problems are rooted in the fact that he has neither the talent nor the intensity required to play PF in the Western Conference.
Are you saying this from personal experience? What about all the community work they do? Like Read to Achieve, Buying tickets for underprivileged people, helping to build homes, active in Fanny May functions, visiting hospitals for kids who are dying, signing autographs for hours, etc. etc. Do you do any of these things for the community? Are you saying that C.E.O's should have good conduct and do community service because they are fat rich? Are you saying that they have no personal lives and give up Libertine rights to appease the masses? Do we "own" players once they go Pro?, if so I want MJ to do clown tricks at my kids Birthday party in a clownsuit(not current Rockets Jersey dont get confused) I understand your Idea, I just dont agree with you throwing away the rights of people you dont(and will never) know.
