What happened when that mature person went up into the stands in Portland and punched a fan. What happened when Robert Horry got arrested for hitting Calvin Murphy's daughter, the mother of his kid. What happened when Barkely through a midget through a window, or when Mario Ellie got arrested for DWI.

Winning is what has kept the fans away or lack thereof.

Its all about perception and in the general public views this as bad. Eddie could be a great guy, but he needs to be smarter.

To bad for the Rockets they do not need any distractions. Obviously eddie will be suspended will this go effect this season? anybody have any idea.
This is not that big of a big deal, none of know Eddie so nobody should judge him. He is a young guy, with fame and money this could happpen to all of us if we were in the same situation. If this was a vet on our team Id be more concerned. I just hope Eddie dosent miss any games.

Your right guy everyone in Houston was cheering each one of the tremendous accomplishments, the Rockets probably lost no fans becaouse of these incidents. Maxwell was crazy we know that. Horry made a bad decision, should have slapped Calvin instead. Barkley was justified. I dont remember Mario going to jail for that.

Had he been at James Posey's party at Crystal, It wouldn't have happened. By the way, did they law say they stopped him because he was a black man in a nice car?

You know what, I meant Scottie Pippen, the car incident with Ellie was he was car jacked. Sorry about the mistaken identity.

Here's one of those hindsight is 20/20:

Would anyone else rather have kept Jefferson, drafted Tony Parker with the second first rounder, and Jamaal Tinsley or Gerald Wallace with the third one(or trade it)?

Anyway, back to the topic....how about everyone at the next home game boo the heck out of him every time he's introduced or enters the game? Just to give him an extra sense of exactly what's at stake when you shirk responsibility when people are counting on you and you're too stupid to learn from others who make the same mistake?!

That appraoch is counter productive and naive. We need to support him and pray for him. Booing a 20 year old who did not commit a felonious offense is just not right - it will crush his confidense and breed hate and contempt.

    I think that's a great idea.

Provided you make arrangements for the team to come to your place of work and boo and heckle you mercilessly all day for the mistakes you made in your personal life.

If only we caught everyone in the NBA who smokes pot, we would have nothing but a bunch of Trailblazers teams. So Eddie got caught, I don't give a damn. I'm not gonna stop going to Rockets games to protest that. And it's not like he was sitting in his car waving a bag around for the cops to see (that's for whoever said a smart person will wait til he gets home). So all of you right-wing ultra-conservative anti-drug monkeys just get the hell over it.

It isn't a big deal. I think Rasheed and Stoudamire missed all of one or two games when they get caught, and missing Eddie for a game or two isn't going to end our chances.

    NYC Rocket was right.

Man Eddie. Now WE CAN'T TRADE HIM FOR NOBODY. No one wants him. Jesus. No more trade value.

He want to be like Mo and Rasheed.

    Stupid Eddie.

    Sad.

    Disappointing.

    God.

I just found out right now........

I didn't say his personal life is messed up. I said if your personal life messed up your job, you'd be fired. Eddie's personal life does mess up his job if (1) his pot smoking affects his health, or (2) his gets suspended. My point is that off-court behavior HAS a lot to do with on-court production. This is not just some privacy issue.

For all those who say it is just weed, remember to put the lid back on my garbage can after you are done with your job of emptying the trash for the city.

Unless you are too busy holed up in a house somewhere shaking like Ken Caminiti after some free crack.

    ;)

EG is a moron for having weed in his car and driving around with an unpaid speeding ticket.

The guy has not improved any, plays a very lazy style of ball, and now has ruined his trade value.

Well, I guess we could always unload him for Lamar Odom...who is with me?

Oh, and remember pot heads.....most major corporations test for drugs...even blockbuster....lid back on top please.

    :)

DD...I am so surprised. Eddie is absolutely useless. He's definitely not going to be able to be traded...especially to places like Portland and Indiana. But God. We could trade him for Lamar Odom. :D But nothing more. He's useless in a trade. Good job Eddie. Man...I wonder if TMo does this too. Eddie was always screwed up. :(

Wait, wait, wait... you guys are ripping Eddie for pot, yet you'd trade him for Odom in a heartbeat? Are you guys really this ignorant?

I disapprove of mar1juana use, but I'm not naive enough to think that only Taylor and Griffin are the only ones who smoke on the Rockets.

As for Eddie himself, those who want to crucify him, trade him, suspend him, etc... none of those things will help him kick this habit. In fact, they would only drive him deeper into substance abuse in all likelyhood. Substance abuse is endemic in all professional sports, and the problem begins at the top: The owners just don't care about their players enough to create a strong support system to help people who want to be helped and who need support in bad times. This is clearly a case of bad judgement, but without a viable solution in place, there's no indication that things will improve for Eddie or any other young player in a similar situation.
