Truly Ed Reed's signature moment as a Texan.

just saying, there are probably plenty ed reed missed tackles this season but choosing the one where he did his job wasnt the best choice simply because he got hurdled..

Yeah, but this was the only one he could find because most of the time Reed wasn't anywhere near the ball carrier.

Ahh the good days, when one could argue they were playing terrible but still found a way to win games.

Now we know for certain they were playing horrible and were lucky to win two games.

Oh, wow... on that .GIF he doesn't touch Pierce... Pierce touches him. LOL
Read the post above yours. That was the last straw. So would you rather keep a guy who runs his mouth, but doesn't contribute to the team, or a guy who just doesn't contribute to the team? Take your pick.

Everybody remember when Ron Artest left us for the Lakers?

    Yeah...

Edit: Wait, nevermind, Ron Artest wasn't a worthless sack of crap until year 2.

They didn't draft him expecting him to start. Rashad Butler was supposed to be the starter going into last year but was injured in the preseason. Not that Butler is a great T or anything. They drafted Brennan Williams and Quessenberry this year but both got injured. We never saw Williams in action, but you know that if Quessenberry hadn't broken his foot, he'd be starting right now. Probably at tackle, but if not there then at guard. Newton sucks, but it's not like they want or expect him to be a long term solution. He's just happened to be the last man standing the last 2 years. Yeah, we have Harris, but he sucks too.

Everybody on here thought signing Ed "turnover" Reed for a one year rental was good idea to get a good defense that didn't get turnovers some takeaways.

I'm sure Ed thought his hip was going to heal up, it just gets harder when you get older. Competitive athletes won't admit that to themselves.

    It didn't.

We are done, why pay more good money after the bad paying him game bonuses.

Bob took a risk for a possible reward, he didn't spend more than he can afford.

    Move on.

    About 95% did. That's huge.

I was in the "well, at least we didn't end up signing nobody" camp.

The ghost of Ahman Green was dancing in the back of my mind, but I had no idea Reed would not only be consistently hurt, but also absolutely awful when he did play.

he played like ****. Maybe he got cut for playing terribly and speaking his mind, but I don't see why people are getting all annoyed at the Texans for this move. They're correcting a mistake that we all could see

It's annoying that they made a mistake, and I'm all for chastising them for the original signing (though I was also one of the many in favor of it). But let's not harp on them correcting it earlier than at the end of the season.

Hell, everyone wanted a coaching change mid-season and said the Texans weren't willing to do it (whereas the Ravens did fire their OC mid season) and claimed our management sucked for not being willing to pivot. I give them credit for doing this now and eating their crow publicly

    Aaron Wilson(@RavensInsider)

--(Your thoughts when the Texans sent the jet for Ed Reed?) I thought it was overpaying considering there was no competition and the Ravens didn't want him back.

--He knew what he was saying Sunday.

(Would the Ravens had re-signed him?) Ravens had extremely low interest and no interest in standing in Ed's way of getting a pay day. They felt it was time. It was going to have to be a small contract if he was coming back.

Texans thought they were a player away, they're not.

He was terrible; even worse than that undrafted in Dallas, Jeff Heath. Heath ranked 70th worst out of 85 safeties. Ed Reed? 73rd

Reed spoke out and spoke the truth. He also sucked this season.

Only one of those two things was a new event right before being cut. Texans didn't like the ****ty play, but they REALLY didn't like someone in the locker room spitting the truth.

Hopefully the team cleans house this offseason. Time for the good ol boys to follow Schaub out the door.
