Reed has now received $5 million for five total starts with the Texans.

Specifically, Reed pocketed a $2 million signing bonus, a $2 million guaranteed salary advance, and a $1 million guaranteed salary for 2013. (He also picked up another $437,500 in per-game roster bonuses.)

We're like 'that guy' at your fantasy draft that gets players 5 years late and 5 rounds early. Luckily, you can't see my losing team's lineup when I say that.

Hey McNair, your fellow owners are probably laughing behind your back. Do you care?

I can accept someone saying McNair is inept or he uses poor judgement, but to say he just doesn't care is just stupid. If anything he cares too much about the people he brings in. He gets attached to people and doesn't want to let go. The Texans went all in with Schaub, Foster, Andre, and Reed, and it has blown up in their face. Andre has done well, but the others have flopped. McNair may use poor judgement, but he definitely cares about this team and whether it wins or not.

Dude was a beast and I still think he can play this game but he probably wanted to coast to the playoffs then show up. Too bad that didn't happen. Glover Quin looks like he's having a decent year......

Point out what has been true for years, get cut. #TexansCulture

Unfortunately his play this year was poor enough that he had no insurance against his comments. Oh well. The disaster of a season continues.

    Repped.

The "McNair doesn't care about anything as long as he's making money" shtick is getting old. There's a difference between making dumb decisions and not caring. They are not the same thing at all.

My opinion is that he makes dumb decisions based on his flawed philosophy of continuity being everything. Continuity is great if you're winning. If you're not winning, you need to stop worrying about continuity and make changes. This is McNair's biggest flaw and the reason we are where we are right now.

Exactly. He cares more about these people's feelings than he does winning. That's the problem.

Surely t's the main reason he was released. The team doesn't bench/cut based off production.

    Pathetic

    Pathetic

    Losing is very Texans.

Hopefully it happens, that way the Texans will look like bigger fools. For major change this offseason, we need all the embarrassment we can get.

    Agreed. Pathetic organization

    How could I miss this.

This was an expansion draft pick. It wasn't "because of his name." We also got Aaron Glenn and Gary Walker. Those were names, but... in the expansion draft.

    Reed made $375k per tackle

    from PFF via Reddit:

    • He is the only Safety, with at least 25% snaps, to have 100% of passes thrown at him caught by the receiver. QB's throwing at him have a perfect 158.3 Rating.
    • He allowed the 4th longest catch at 64 yards.
    • Targeted the most out of any Safety in the league when in coverege
