Once he got that max extension there were zero reasons for him to try and develop his game. I always said he's a swiss army knife but without the knife.
hes a budding superstar... just surround him with shooters and there you go... just trade injury prone embiid for another star and a shooter i am sure morey can do that
If he doesn't develop that shot, then he will just be the 3rd best player at best. There is no way around it.
Just imagine if Morey didn't trade for Curry and had kept Richardson. Philly would have been 1 2 3 Cancun already.
Here are the actual numbers. I think a combo of less minutes together and when all 3 shared the court Harden was still doing more of the playmaking is what depressed the total of oops from Paul to CC. Always could speculate on other things but who knows. What’s clear is Harden and CC were a monster duo. 2017/2018 Harden and CC Minutes : 1564 At rim assists : 193 (#1 duo in NBA) Paul and CC Minutes : 1067 At rim assists : 61 (#15 duo in NBA) 2018/2019 Harden and CC Minutes : 1807 At rim assist : 211 (#1 duo in NBA) Paul and CC Minutes : 1195 At rim assists: 71 (tied #16 duo in NBA) 2020/2021 Young and CC Minutes : 1387 At rim assists : 124(#1 duo in NBA) fwiw Paul and Ayton Minutes : 1665 At rim assists : 86(#2 duo in NBA)
What's funny is that while everyone wants him to develop an outside shot Simmons doesn't really even need that. His height, size and speed can get him anywhere around the paint. Develop a tear drop and/or a mid range and that's all he needs. It makes him a respectable scorer and that keeps defenses from just sagging off of him. He can literally be Kawhi Leonard 2.0 but he chooses not to be and that's disappointing.
I was never a die hard Capela fan when he was here but I'm glad he's stayed in his lane in terms of what he brings to the court. Like don't try to be what you can't when you don't have to fundamental skills to do so (looking at you Houston Rocket Dwight Howard). I'm also glad Atlanta is maximizing his talent by using him in the same manner that Harden did. Thank god they fired Pierce.
they said philly was the only team in the last 25 years to lose back to back 18+ point leads. considering that would go back to 1996, it would appear we are the last team to blow 18+ point consecutive leads. good news for philly is that apparently means there's a 100% chance they win the title.
Philly has plenty of good shooters already. Embiid, Harris, Curry, Milton, even Korkmaz are all very good shooters.
The Nets or Bucks are going to be rubbing their hands, together. The Nets will probably roll, through them, even without Kyrie.
i checked milton and embiied on the 3pt stats and embiid is not a good enought 3pt shooter and would be even worse on greater volume...and milton is still unproven, his % is good but his volume is too low to know if its sustainable or not anyway i was just being sarcastic spitting out cliches in the previous post... not a fan of simmons tho i respect hes old school and wants to win in a non shooting ways
I think the 76ers is still going to win the series, but pulling for the hawks. Their #1 player is playing with torn knee ligament. I won't exactly call it's a choke job if they lose the series. That label is for the 2007 Mavericks, with a season best 67 win and a final appearance the previous season.
they lost an 18 and 26 point lead in B2B games…u have to consider this a choke job if they were to lose
