in this discussion of this game, the choker in question dribbled around the perimeter for several seconds down 3 with no time and no timeouts and drove for a dunk. if you can't or simply don't want to see how utterly stupid that was then i can fully understand your slobbering of the warriors now :D

Giannis didn't choke, Jason Kidd did for not calling a play. They gave the ball to Giannis who isn't a shooter with no play called, what is expected to come from that?

finally a fair response. kidd was indeed a fool and shares a lot of the blame here. however, he absolutely didn't want giannis driving for a dunk instead of at least attempting a 3 -- that's on alphabet and no one else.

i don't see where you acknowledged that, but let's just say you did anyways. so he did something utterly stupid. i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here and saying he's not always utterly stupid, it's just the pressure that made him temporarily braindead. some guys handle pressure situations well, while some crumble.

It's bad on Giannis for not knowing the clock/timeout situation for sure but again it's the coaches job to ensure the players know that, Kidd should have been yelling shoot the 3 at Giannis. Giannis isn't a shooter and I don't blame him for not looking for the shot. Everybody can tell if they feel they can make a shot or not, Giannis wasn't feeling it. He looked for the pass, nobody was open, decided to drive in and dunk it hoping there would be time left after the foul.

Poor awareness by Giannis, but to me this is way more on the coaching staff then Giannis. He's not a choker, dude balled out all series, he shouldn't be handling the ball in that situation, not until he develops a jumper.

i already called it a mistake but part of being young you're going to go through things like this and the fact that he was running on fumes the whole quarter did not help either. obviously to you those aren't any excuses but im not all that surprised in this situation. from the end of the 3rd quarter til the end of the game was absolutely grueling for bucks players coming back from 25 and taking a 2 pt lead with about a minute or so left. I have a ton of respect for them not giving up and leaving it all out on the floor while almost completing a crushing comeback in an elimination game

i can't agree that he shouldn't have attempted a 3 here just because he wasn't feeling it. i mean he was 1-2 on three's in this game alone and had several decent looks dancing around the arc for several seconds while being guarded by a guy 10in shorter than him.

if he was so tired and exhausted, then jacking a 3 would be lot easier and less effort than driving in from the arc for a dunk. it also would have given his team at least some chance of tieing the game instead of guaranteeing defeat

lol no. did you not see how hard it was to muster up some shots on the ft line being absolutely gassed. a 3 pter is much more worse, especially for someone that can't really shoot. I would hope you could actually understand that part

driving in from the arc with a crossover for a dunk takes less effort than jacking a 3 over a guy with 1ft less reach than you. riiiiight

no you're right, when harden gets tired he starts driving to the basket more instead of jacking 3's too. that's a totally rational position :D

oh ok nvm the defender basically let him go to the basket and no else came to contest the shot for his free score to the rim. that takes so much energy compared to a taking a 3 that he is not good at and he was just struggling to even hit the rim at the ft line. makes total sense. #notreally

lol they invited him to take the dunk because it guaranteed a 2nd round matchup with CLE. so he expended more energy driving to the basket even though he had ample opportunity to easily launch a 3 over lowry from several different spots around the arc, where he had already made 1 of 2 shots in this very game -- all because he flat out choked.

lol expending more energy makes no sense whatsoever. taking a free roll to the basket does not take more effort than taking a shot you're not good at contested
