No. Hold on to the ball and DON'T take him down. Unless you believe they both went down by momentum. If my recollection is correct, Lance took him down while his arm is hooked on Green's head (he's probably trying to take the ball away, not simply holding on to the ball.) Had he just hold on to the ball to tie it up, it's a jump. That is how I saw it.
The foul was called before he had his hands on the ball. There was no way to get a jump ball in that scenario as a foul was called, and rightfully so I might add. This isn’t wrestling
The held ball I am referring to is when both of them are still standing. In my observation, the whistle was actually almost simultaneous. And the conflicting referee signals are also almost simultaneous.
Man the Cavs got every single call down the stretch there - that jump ball/foul was weird all around but giving LeBron a timeout late when he didnt have complete possession of the ball, Turner got fouled on a 3 in the corner no call. The Cavs may have gotten what they needed to beat the Pacers here but if they face Toronto the next round I dont know how they will be able to beat Toronto who has way more talent than the Pacers
What Ken Mauer told the replay officials is that he was calling a foul before the tie up. Basically that his motion of going for the ball was a foul by Stephenson. I agree with him. It would be ridiculous to let players just wrap their arms around guys heads to grab the ball and say "JUMP BALL!" Stephenson could have really hurt that dude with all of that and I'm surprised Reggie chided the other guy for a slight push off as he stood up. Stephenson is lucky he didn't get his head slammed against the ground in an angry retaliation.
Man, the Pacers lost a golden opportunity in this game. They had it in their grasp late. LeBron was on fumes. Those 2 Korver 3's, woo boy.
In the 4th quarter lebron looked like he was done with this ****. Looked like he didn't even want to win and just be done with the season
He played 46 minutes including all of the 2nd half. He was gassed. Pacers really didnt do a good job taking advantage of that.
the pacers have to feel pretty bad being up 5. the cavs can't throw it in the ocean from 3, the pacers are shooting 80% on 3's, bogdonavic/sabonis/young/turner are 11-16, they have more free throws, and no one but lebron and korver can shoot.
Not sure why Pacers dont attack Cleveland. Love is their starting C. LeBron is playing PF and he barely plays defense. Like what are they doing
