I ship asap. My customers love it and it brings back repeat business. If they pay that day, I'll pack and ship and drop it off at the post office. It'll get picked up at 6 am and they usually get it that day or the next.
With PayPal, the buyer can take his money back from you weeks from now if he feels like it. Even if you've transferred the money to your bank account, you'll have a negative balance with PayPal. The seller just has to do a chargeback with his credit card company claiming that you didn't send the item, and then it's up to you to prove that you mailed the item, with the buyer signing for the item at delivery.
It's not very hard to prove since paypal provides you with shipping labels from its website and delivery confirmation. How can you chargeback that? I've been selling on ebay since '98 and that's never happended. And I'm a powerseller so I ship multiple times a week.
superstition... but I'll keep to my lame policy because I am stubborn. I'lll just state this in the listings for now on.
Cause it'll get picked up at 6am and 99% of the time if it's a customer from Texas, which are my base customers, it gets delivered the next day. And it brings back repeat customers which brings $$$
