I am going to be selling something on ebay for around $300 and would like to be able to offer the buyer an easy way to pay me online. I currently have an unverrified paypal account and would prefer not to link it to my bank account. I would like to be able to get the money in the form of a check.

Do any of you guys have experiences with recieving online payments?

I see that paypal will send me a check for a $1.50 fee. Have any of you done that? is it simple?

Thanks ahead of time for your help.

Funny, but once I won an auction and promptly sent payment the day after.
Many weeks passed before I finally wrote the guy asking about my item.
He gave me the "ahhh, a perfect argument for everyone to use paypal" speech...what an a-hole!
The package finally got here a few days later, postmarked just a few days after I sent my payment so really....paypal DOES NOT guarantee anything will get there quicker.
You still have the U.S. mail to deal with.

Personally I feel paranoid about having my bank account anywhere else 'cept in my own hands, let alone somewhere on the interenet, thus I never use paypal.
I've purchased a few things worth over 300 bucks and just paid with a Money Order, no problem.

    Good Luck!

I believe you have to be a verified member now to accept money through Paypal. They just changed that a little while ago I think.

Also, for like people who don't ship your item and stuff you have 30 days with Paypal to get your money back. So if you don't get your stuff after 2/3 weeks just file a complaint with Paypal and you'll get your money back. I did it once and got my money back in like 2 weeks.

I use Paypal exclusively. Their fees are less than Billpoint's & they give you the option of leaving the money in your Paypal account (without incurring a fee) or transferring it to your checking account (for a fee). Billpoint doesn't give you that option. They automatically deposit the funds into your account & hit you with a fee.

By leaving the money in your Paypal account, you can make purchases with it, or transfer money to someone else.

Another option is BidPay. They don't charge you. They charge the person who uses it. I never got a payment from them until a week ago. A woman paid them with a credit card and they sent express mail to me in the form of a money order. Pretty cool.
