This is your first post and you are going to call out a player and this is the only stat you bring to the table??? You do know there is more than just shooting that makes a player good right???

All I know is that the Rockets were an EXTREMELY boring team to watch and one that struggled to score 90, hell 80 points a game until Wesley along with Jon Barry came aboard. I have no problem admitting that I was wrong in judging this deal was bad. But it doesn't seem we can say the same for you.

I agree with fa7999 and will tell you to stick to lurking.

That is a great point and one that should not be overlooked. Although not a starter, Jon Barry's impact has been huge as well. I always feel good when I see him shooting a 3, and it seems he hits them around 50% of the time.

But I will say that no one here (that I know of) was sad to see Lue go and we all felt that we took the Hawks to the cleaners on that one. But with Jimmy Jackson it was a different story.

JJ was a step slower this year and we need perimeter D badly. Wesley has been playing solid D since his arrival and now he has also brought his shooting touch back......Well, I cannot believe that the trades for Wesley & Barry are a major reason that our season is saved.

It just goes to show you how important the roles players are, especially those ones that compliment the stars.

Now let's try to bring in a young, atheletic 4 and we are set for the next several years.

I agree with Manny about Lue and Barry but I was very skeptical about JJ and Boki for Wesley. I expected JJ to adjust like he did last year and show leadership instead of holding on to the ball, taking bad shots and commiting turnovers. Boki was young and although he was struggling he showed promise at the beginning of the season.
I liked Wesley when he was with the Hornets but he had been going down over the last few years which caused me to get frustrated.
The ball movement has gotten better with him and Barry. Wesley is doing well on defense and his shooting is thankfully coming around.
Sometimes I wish JJ would have still stayed with us and played like he did last year but the benefit of the trade is starting to show.
I hope that next year we will be able to add youth and talent to the squad so we can really take off.

I'll admit I was wrong as well.

I thought Wesley would be a ball hog who would jack up 3's but thankfully, I was wrong.

I am thankful for everything JJ did for us but its evident that Wesley has a positive impact on this team.

I wasnt happy either. Now I see it, one thing Wes does better, he is more of a team player, and plays much cotroled game. I think JJ shoots better, and can take it to the hole. But with JJ in the line-up, the ball didnt move as well as right now. Wes spends a lot of energy on the D and has smaller ego than JJ. I think Wes fits the team better than JJ. I am glad JJ found Phoenix as a new home, he fits there better than Houston. So I will eat this crow, not 100% though.

The thing with the Wesley deal is that it gives the Rox another option to bring the ball up not named Tracy and that it allows Tracy to cover SF's on defense, which is much less tiresome than chasing around SG's - which he had to do because JJ couldn't; Tracy's scoring binge started around that time, I think.

one thing that all hadn't mentioned was that Wesley and Tmac play enough D that JVG has started letting Sura, Howard and Yao go for offensive rebounds

remember early in the year - the whole freaking team would have to get back on defense because they were so sub par in transition ?

that is why the Rox are raned last in offensive rebounds

I was livid about the trade. Wesley's shooting has been horrible, better today. His defense has been o.k., nothing spectacular. Barry has been a great addition. Still not a Wesley fan. Hold off on my crow for now. Well, I will take some on the Boki part of the trade, I thought he would take off with the opportunity. He has been disappointing in N.O.

I never 'hated' the trade. I didnt like losing JJ because I thought he had good game with a low pricetag. And I didn't know much about Wesley. It sounded like a gamble. It sounded like a gamble, but it apparently has paid off.

And, yeah, Barry for Lue... we shoulda been wearing ski masks when we robbed them like that.

    ^Right here

The benefit of this are not showing up on the David W. stat sheet. But it's crucial part of our success. We need DW's defense and spot up shooting (although it could be better! He's at .360 3PT currently, but he's been shooting better recently). Also, DW's give us some speed in the open court. He's a decent finisher when we are on 2-1 fast-breaks.

So, he's a good addition. Although his shooting (3's) could be better.

Funny thing is, New Orleans already had a pretty good idea that JJ was not ever going to report, so they basically made this deal strictly to get their hands on Boki..

..who is now struggling to get 3 minutes per game on the worst team in the entire league..

Things are not looking good for the Boki Man in the NBA..

Hope he saved some of that rookie 1st-rounder contract money..

Boki just had a career high night, 21 pts. Most from garbabge time though.
