What can I say, I suck at Excel. I want to have an aging report using the Action Date as my baseline date for my report. HOWEVER, when the Entry Date is more recent (greater than) my Action Date, I want to use the Entry Date as the baseline date for my report. This is no doubt extremely simple. I just need to set up three columns like how I have it below. I'm assuming it's just a simple IF formula that I need. Can anyone help me out? Code: Entry Date Action Date Baseline date for Report 1/1/2016 3/1/2016 1/1/2016 3/2/2016 1/1/2016 3/3/2016 1/1/2016 3/4/2016 1/1/2016 3/5/2016 1/1/2016 3/6/2016 1/1/2016 3/7/2016 1/1/2016 3/8/2016 1/1/2016 3/9/2016 1/1/2016 3/10/2016 4/15/2016 3/11/2016 1/1/2016 3/12/2016 1/1/2016 3/13/2016 1/1/2016 3/14/2016 1/1/2016 3/15/2016 1/1/2016 3/16/2016 1/1/2016 3/17/2016 4/16/2016 3/18/2016 1/1/2016 3/19/2016 1/1/2016 3/20/2016 4/16/2016 3/21/2016 1/1/2016 3/22/2016
You may. This will just be one part of a much larger database, which feeds into other databases/reports that are accessed by dozens of other people. Using something other than Excel, even if it helps me, would not help the dozens of other people. Using something else is not an option right now. ::EDIT:: Also truth be told if I figure this out and make my proposal to fix our current problem quicker than others on my team, I might get a spot bonus. And with an AC on the fritz, I could use it!
In all seriousness, I can't help you but the houston public library now provides free access to lynda.com's tutorials on excel and all sorts of other software https://www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=houstonlibrary.org All you need is a library card
Gotcha. Then let me help you out with your problem: And yes, all you need is an iif() or if() formula.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck That's it, and that's extremely simple. I really, really should know how to do this. Thank you and rep to you, sir. That image is blocked for me at work but thanks all the same if you were trying to help.
I love this response. And I love this response. This kind of thread exchange is exactly why the hangout will never die. So morale of the story is . . . stay calm.
