man, miami goes up 5 and then just falls apart. within 2 plays george makes an off-the-dribble 3 and then lebron jams his finger and not only play tentatively because of that, but then gets his 3rd foul and starts playing even more tentatively because of that. also, udonis haslem stayed in the game and was a one man wrecking crew on the heat's offense. miami had their burst but their offense has been bad all game. it seems like lebron never commits fouls but when he gets an early foul in the 1st quarter he just seems to keep committing fouls early in each subsequent quarter so he never really comes out but he always stays on the brink of foul trouble and always plays tentatively on offense because of it.
Pacers and Heat defense is very different. Heat's defense is predicated on being really really aggressive while the Pacers are much more positional based. Reffing has been pretty tight all game. some over reffing IMO. that makes it inconsistent.
Oh well yeah I mean it definitely hasn't been a perfectly officiated game (no basketball game ever is), but it just hasn't been that bad. Certainly nothing worth complaining over. But maybe I'm just more tolerant than most...
so Battier is reaching Fisher-qesue flop level now....it's not smart D anymore..just falling down to flop...
I am curious why playing defense is bad for basketball. I guess you want it to be like the NFL where defenses aren't allowed to do anything. Do you like the all star game?
I don't have a dog in this fight, I actually think the finals would be more entertaining with the heat but the reffs are lettin them get away with a lot so far. You can't use the both teams have been called for the same amount argument because one of them is fouling more.
maybe i just don't watch the pacers enough, but i never understand why hansborough is lumped in with indiana's horrible bench. every time i see him in a game, he is a whirlwind of energy, grabs rebounds, and even though he moves with the gracefulness of a newborn dear, he gets stuff done.
