It's about being Mr. Intangibles, he doesn't need to hit a shot or get any rebounds/assists to be the most valuable player on any team in the NBA. It's sad how people here doubt him when he had monster performances nearly every night this year, game 3 with his zero fg being one fo the best ever.
Wade is 30 and he doesn't have a reliable jumper, this is expected. LeBron will be the same in two years.
One of the sorriest overtimes in NBA history (won 4-2 by the Celts). Both teams were on fumes, especially with PP and LeBron fouling out. 5:00 Start of the 1st Overtime 5:00 Jumpball: LeBron James vs. Kevin Garnett (Dwyane Wade gains possession) 89-89 4:37 LeBron James misses 15-foot two point shot 89-89 4:35 89-89 Kevin Garnett defensive rebound 4:22 89-89 Paul Pierce offensive foul (Shane Battier draws the foul) 4:22 89-89 Paul Pierce turnover 4:22 89-89 Marquis Daniels enters the game for Paul Pierce 4:03 Dwyane Wade misses 18-foot jumper 89-89 4:03 89-89 Rajon Rondo defensive rebound 3:47 89-89 Mickael Pietrus misses 25-foot three point jumper 3:47 Dwyane Wade defensive rebound 89-89 3:30 Udonis Haslem makes driving dunk (Dwyane Wade assists) 91-89 3:14 Shane Battier shooting foul (Marquis Daniels draws the foul) 91-89 3:14 91-89 Marquis Daniels misses free throw 1 of 2 3:14 91-89 Boston offensive team rebound 3:14 91-90 Marquis Daniels makes free throw 2 of 2 2:59 Mario Chalmers misses 22-foot three point jumper 91-90 2:58 Miami offensive team rebound 91-90 2:41 Kevin Garnett blocks Mario Chalmers's layup 91-90 2:39 91-90 Kevin Garnett defensive rebound 2:32 91-92 Rajon Rondo makes 2-foot two point shot 2:11 LeBron James misses 9-foot jumper 91-92 2:10 91-92 Kevin Garnett defensive rebound 1:55 91-92 Rajon Rondo misses layup 1:54 Udonis Haslem defensive rebound 91-92 1:51 LeBron James offensive foul (Kevin Garnett draws the foul) 91-92 1:51 LeBron James turnover 91-92 1:51 Norris Cole enters the game for LeBron James 91-92 1:38 Boston full timeout 1:31 91-92 Ray Allen misses 26-foot three point jumper 1:31 91-92 Mickael Pietrus offensive rebound 1:05 91-92 Kevin Garnett misses 26-foot three point jumper 1:04 91-92 Mickael Pietrus offensive rebound 0:46 91-92 Kevin Garnett misses 3-foot jumper 0:45 Udonis Haslem defensive rebound 91-92 0:24 Shane Battier misses 24-foot three point jumper 91-92 0:23 Miami defensive team rebound 91-92 0:23 Udonis Haslem loose ball foul (Marquis Daniels draws the foul) 91-92 0:23 91-92 Keyon Dooling enters the game for Marquis Daniels 0:21 Mario Chalmers personal foul (Rajon Rondo draws the foul) 91-92 0:21 91-92 Rajon Rondo misses free throw 1 of 2 0:21 91-92 Boston offensive team rebound 0:21 Joel Anthony enters the game for Norris Cole 91-92 0:21 91-92 Marquis Daniels enters the game for Ray Allen 0:21 91-93 Rajon Rondo makes free throw 2 of 2 0:21 Miami full timeout 0:21 James Jones enters the game for Joel Anthony 91-93 0:14 91-93 Marquis Daniels personal take (Dwyane Wade draws the foul) 0:14 Miami 20 Sec. timeout 0:00 Dwyane Wade misses 25-foot three point jumper 91-93 0:00 Miami offensive team rebound 91-93 0:00 End of the 1st Overtime 0:00 End Game
Please, when you make proclamations like that, have stats to back it up. Per hoopdata: Lebron James at: 10-15ft: 47% 16-23ft: 39% Wade: 10-15ft: 43% 16-23ft: 37% Kobe: 10-15ft: 42% 16-23ft: 41% Durant: 10-15ft: 39% 16-23ft: 47% Melo 10-15fg: 42% 16-23ft: 35% Pierce 10-15ft: 41% 16-23ft: 33% Those are some elite wing perimeter players off the top of my head in comparison to Wade/Lebron. Wade is mediocre, while Lebron is pretty good. B/c Lebron's game is so well-rounded that he nails Js and barrels to the rim doesn't mean he doesn't have a J.
It's not only about fg%, it's also about style. Kobe/Durant/Melo took many of those shots in C&S or in post-up. They'll have those looks when they age. We all know Kobe can't get past defenders at all nowadays. LeBron drives hard for those shots and he gets a lot of calls in 10-15 ranges. Once he can't get past people as easily, it'd be much tougher for him to adjust.
What's so surprising? Defenders' primary goal is to take away his penetration and they are willing to give some space for jumpers. That's not going to be the case once LeBron loses his athleticism.
I don't expect Bosh to be at full strength even if he comes back. The key to the series for Miami is still Wade. He needs to play better, plain and simple.
How huge was that missed call when Allen stepped out of bounds when passing the ball to Dooling who made that 3 in the corner? Kinda of like the Finley play when we played Dallas in the 05' playoffs. Both were clearly out of bounds.
The stakes are so high enough that I think Bosh will wilt if he plays-- can you imagine your return at home and if Boston goes on some run and you're down double digits like in Game 4? How would that affect Bosh's already questionable psyche? But then again everyone is gassed so it could be his chance.
It won't hurt the Heat to play Bosh unless he injures himself again. They have to pull out all the stops to win game 5 and adding Bosh for 10-15 mins could be the difference.
Definitely not as huge as the Finley play. There were plenty of bad calls that went Miami's way as well. For example, the no call when Wade absolutely mugged Pierce. The Finley play was definitely worse because it was an end of game situation.
I didn't watch the game but I saw the sixth foul that was called on Lebron that sent him to the bench. All I can say is that was a horrible call. Absolutely ridiculous imo! You suck, ref!
