The Celts are ready to choke like dogs. That stupid T on Rasheed could change the tempo.

The Celtics love from the media and the refs is so blatant.

I don't care what happens tonight or who wins this series: Detroit is the better team. If it's Celts vs. Lakers, the Celts will get drilled in 4 or 5 games. They don't have the bench to stay with them and it won't be close. If the Pistons lose this series, they can only blame themselves.

Stuckey is some kind of rookie! Clutch shot!

What a letdown. I can't believe I have to watch one of these teams in the Finals. The Celtics are looking the biggest assembly of chokers in the history of the playoffs (with the exception of Pierce) while the Pistons look like they think they are too good to bother concentrating at the end of WCF game.

The Pistons are the better team when they actually care (or are not melting down) but how many times to these dip$hits have to learn that they can't just flip the switch and appear in the NBA Finals? If these guys were half as good as they think they are they would be in the middle of a dynasty comparable to Jordan's Bulls.

Rajon Rondo should not be allowed anywhere near the NBA Finals. He'll wet his shorts on every possession.

what a disappointment.... what's up with rasheed... after that t, he just cooled down and didn't shoot. when he did, he missed horribly.

doc rivers should have put in eddie house or at least cassel instead of rondo. wow. celtics got bailed out, cause multple times, detroit had easy steal on rondo high arching passes, but commited fouls after tipping the ball.

This game is on Rasheed and Prince. I don't know what's going on there with them, a fight with Flip? It's ECF, and they had so many chances to take the game. But damn Rasheed, grabed only 4 rebounds and let Perkins go for 18-16? Does he have pride? And Prince, passed how many open shots? What's going on? Eastern is still pathetic.

watching basketball players, college or pro, try to intentionally miss free throws is one of the great travesties/mysteries in sports. somehow, with all the players and all the coaches over all the years, the strategy everyone has settled on, as far as i can tell, is this:

i'll shoot a completely normal free throw, with the same arc and same direction as all of my other free throws.

that's it. apparently, this in order to give it a great chance to accidentally go in (as stuckey's just did) and to make sure that if it does miss, it will be just like the typical free throw rebound that greatly favors the defense. this is amazing to me. no thought is given to maybe shooting it off-center to get a weird bounce, no though to chaning the arc or trajectory at all. just a normal free throw. and yet the answer is so blindingly obvious. chunk that mother****er as hard as possible off the front of the rim!

it's really not that hard. assuming you are of average nba-level coordination, i would like to think you wouldn't miss the rim in your attempt. and once it hits the rim, it will either bounce straight back to you or bounce so hard that it will be a free-for-all for the ball, giving the further back positioned offense a better chance at getting it. i was so glad earlier this year when with 1.3 seconds left in a game yao had a chance to purposely miss and he slammed it off the front of the rim. what happened? it went right back to him and he threw it out to rafer or luther who actually got a shot off (in only 1.3) and damn near made a game tying 3. i don't see how no coach has latched on to this as a strategy and popularized it.

you ever seen shaq shoot normal free throws, when he rockets one of his laser beams off the back of the rim and, more often than not, his team gets the rebound? same principle, except throwing it even harder. the current strategy is just so lacking in thought and has such a low chance of working i can hardly believe no one else (except i guess yao or adelman) has thought to try something different.

the only time you wouldn't do it would be if there were only 3 or 4 tenths left and you needed a soft bounce to somehow tip it in. but if you have any time at all (stuckey had 4.5, yao had 1.3 and even got it out to someone else) you should just slam the front of the rim. it damn sure can't work out worse.

This is Prince's 2nd consecutive year of playing like a stink bomb in the conference finals. His shot and confidence just completely leave him.

On missing FTs on purpose, either aim 6 inches to the right or left. Teammates should huddle before the attempts so they will know which way the ball will go. Or maybe signal them while at the line.

yes, he can hit big shot. still a rookie, though. missing key ft and can't miss when he wanted to... but the ball should've not been in his hands for the last possession. knowing the celts would foul, they'd put the ball in billup's hands.

i don't understand why cassell only played 2 minutes. he had one turn over cause hunter stole the ball. but he was there for 2 minutes.

why Rondo played the whole game made no sense.

tinman, quit your obsession on the old rockets already. sam's #'s look god awful, and horry (a hof-er? lol)? what has he done so far this year?

didn't know horry is calvin murphy's illegitimate son-in-law, though.

you are severely underestimating the celtics.... according to most people's logic, the celtics should have been swept or lost in 5 to the pistons since it took them 7 games each to beat ATL and CLE. people just don't seem to understand match ups. the lakers are not a bad match up for the celtics AT ALL.

lakers would beat them in 4 or 5 ???? get real. the increased tempo of the game would only help the celtics offense and they are a better defensive team than both the lakers AND spurs.

and i still do not see why people think the teams in the west are just so much better than bos and det.

rivers has him as the setup man and puts in him bad situations. 2 minutes this game, did you watch?

what can any player do in 2 minutes?

sam picked the wrong team to join, he should have joined the lakers.

You should have seen the game live at the Palace. Every time the Pistons would get a sizable lead there were all of the sudden a bunch of fouls called on them to put the Celtics to the line. It was unreal.
