It would be sweet. I'd keep my left and right nuts though. :D

For the record, even though Lowry is the better PG, the only reason I considered Brooks starting in that scenario is that LeBron handles the ball so much and there would be so many open looks from outside. LeBron is also one of the best in the league at attacking the rim which means Lowry would be rendered less effective spending much of his time of the perimeter. You could just as easily start Lowry and get better ball movement as well as another slasher in the starting lineup but I think Lowry's phenomenal slashing ability would go under utilized with LeBron dominating the ball.

imagine yao clearing the lane and lebron attacking the basket only for the lane to get shut down and he dishes it to a open yao for a easy mid ranger jumper or a open 3-pointer to shane

His real name is Aleksandar which translates to Sasha.

I am a hockey fan and both Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Semin are referred to as Sasha by their friends.

Not at all because we have a good GM and the trade would be made to make us better.

I didn't even know who Brooks was before his 1st Summer League. I had heard his name once or twice during the Final Four the year before when he was playing for Oregon.

I was just hoping for a good point guard after years of disappointment at that position. I was a Rockets fan before Brooks and will be long after he's gone.

Thats what people don't understand. If they read some of your post, they would understand its about the rockets and the moniker really doesn't mean anything.

I can't blame them. I stuck myself with this ID when I joined which was during Brooks' first Summer League. I literally had a Summer League game on in the background and liked what I saw of him at the time so I decided to use his name for my moniker. I am sort of pulling for him because I watched him closely since day one but that doesn't mean I don't recognize his weaknesses. I've been saying that Lowry is the better PG since about Lowry's 4th game in a Rockets uniform.

I'm not an old school Rockets fan. I moved from D.C. to Houston in 2002 and actually got into the team because of Francis. I grew up near him in Silver Spring and was also a Terps and Bullets fan as a kid but lost interest in the NBA in favor of college ball during the 80s.

I don't think so. Without Kobe, Lakers still has Gasol, Odom and Bynum. Still a solid team and able to squeeze in the playoffs as the 8th seed.
You may say Gasol is soft(which i don't think he is, only those Kobe wankers said he is because anytimes lakers failed this is a good excuses) but he is still a solid player. Remembered Gasol led the Grizzlies into the playoffs 3-4 times with Battier as 2nd best player? :D

I agree they would be a more competitive team than the Cavs would be minus LeBron but I don't think they'd quite make the playoffs in the West. Our top 8 or 9 teams were still better than the top 8 or 9 in the East even though the East is now better top to bottom.

You have to remeber that not only would the Lakers be a worse team but most every other team in the West would likely have another win or two (maybe more) if they played a lesser Lakers team.

The hell? Everybody has been saying that Gasol is as soft as tissue paper even before he got traded to the Lakers. He was called "Gasoft" way before he became a laker. There's a reason why he never got past the first round before LA.

Disagree. If you're assuming a fully healthy league, there's no chance that the Lakers w/o Kobe could supplant any of these playoff teams:

Spurs, Rockets, Mavericks, Hornets, Nuggets, Blazers, Jazz, Suns

Odom is a career underachiever and Bynum has yet to accomplish anything.

    Huh?

He forced Kareem to question how a young, talented player can be so incredibly lazy. That's an accomplishment, isn't it?

No doubt. I really like Pietrus and would be more than willing to replace Shane with him. He was an under the radar two-way player when he left GS much like Ariza was when he came to L.A. He may not be as cerebral as Shane but he more than makes up for it in pure athleticism and his ability to produce at the other end. I know everybody loves Shane. I do as well to a certain extent and I understand the argument that we have been in a "win now" mode given the age of our core players but sooner or later, it will be time to go in a new direction. Unless the Rockets can pull a rabbit out of their hat by mid-season in 09/10, it may be time to get some value back for Battier before it hits rock bottom.

IIRC Shane is also on MLE money, so what's the difference? Unless you were still bitter about the Gay trade.

    NICE POST!!
Pietrus is become a really solid player for the magic....without pietrus, there could be an argument that the magic wouldn't of even made it past boston in the last round...

as for our supporting cast, THE ROCKETS SUPPORTING cast is 100 times better than the cavs....

and just a note from me being outside the arena tonight of the magic...
i doubt any of you saw it on tv, but the magic had brought in a chevy cavalier and had it gutted and all the magic fans were allowed to take a sledge hammer and smash the car in..it was hilarious and AWESOME!!! i must say lol

It wasnt gay, it was the #8 pick. Pietrus and ariza wasnt had for that kind of compensation.

Man, the Cavs are so embarrassingly reliant upon LeBron it's sick. It's to the point where you see Mike Brown on the sideline in a game like this during the 4th quarter thinking "OH ****! LeBron isn't hitting his shots -- what do I do?!".

Mo Williams, your "All Star", is out there chucking three pointers and not hitting much of anything. Five TO's too? Awesome, considering he's forced to handle the ball about 15% of the time. You have Anderson Varejeo out there trying the "I'm so badly outmatched i'm going to try to bait Dwight into socking me so they'll throw him out of the game" strategy. Ilgauskas playing like he just stumbled out of a bar.

Ben Wallace should be in the stands selling popcorn or something if he can't play. I mean, if you make $14M a year and you can barely even get out there in a playoff series like this, against a player you are TAILOR MADE to guard, I don't know what to say. We all know Dwight Howard is a great player but Wallace actually has the brute muscle to stand toe-to-toe with Dwight but he sucks too badly to be out there often or long enough to make an impact. What a disgrace. Speaking of worthless $14M players -- did Wally World collect yet another DNP? There's $28M well spent -- think the Cavs are wishing they would have swapped Wally World for Antawn Jamison when they had the chance?

If LeBron wins a championship with this hapless bunch no accolade or form of praise he gets will ever do him justice. And that's saying a lot.

Really, its mike browns fault if you ask me. He should bench big z or varejo and start lebron and sasha at forwards. As long as their 2 bigs have to guard 2 sf's, they're going to have problems. i know you're pride is sticking you in the side, but sometimes you have to pull a coach carisle and pull prince off the bench to guard tracy cause neithe robinson nor williams can do it.
