I have always liked Rafer and want him to succeed. Unfortunately conference finals is where his team's run will end and he has already done one better than his old Rockets buddies! LBJ and the Cavs deserve the hype and are playing extremely well. Can they maintain their focus with so many days off? I think they can.
Lol and they have really been on the money this postseason. I believe they had Portland to win in 5 and Lakers to sweep us.
If Lewis could not abuse Scalabrine what makes you think he will abuse whoever is guarding him from the Cavs? Cavs in 6.
He's done one better because he got to play in the weak Eastern Conference plus the Celtics were without KG. If the Celtics were at full strength in these playoffs, I think that we would have been looking at a Cavaliers/Celtics ECF. I doubt it very much if Rafer would have really made any difference at all in the Rockets' second round series with the Lakers though. I wonder if Aaron Brooks would have had all that much of a chance to play as much as he did if Rafer was still with the team. Rafer still threw up a lot more bricks in the Magic's second round series with the Celtics than Brooks did in the Rockets' second round series with the Lakers. IMO, if the Rockets still had Rafer, they would have needed a lot more scoring from him than what he did for the Magic in their second round series with the Celtics if the Rockets were even going to end up making their series with the Lakers as interesting as they managed to.
i really think the magic will win this. turk and lewis can just stretch a defense so far and it really opens up driving lanes. they have howard protecting the paint on defense. they can create so many problems for the cavs.
Seriously, after watching them slop through a 7-game series against a crippled Celtics team, how can you logically think the Magic will beat the Cavs?
I live in Orlando Magic are my second fav team after the rockets.... i pick the magic in 6...they have played really good against the cavs this season and i think they match up really good... GOOOOOO MAGICCCCCCC
If any team in the east was gonna challenge cleveland, it was orlando. They matchup well, but still dont have homecourt advantage. Be interesting to see how they handle finally playing a team with a chance to beat them for the first time in weeks though.
I hate HOW PEOPLE say BOSTON would of beaten orlando if they had KG...sure it would of been competetive but what if ORLANDO HAD JAMEER NELSON...ppl seem to forget how much he improved this season into an all star and how much better he made the magic..... and the MAGIC WILL WIN A GAME IN CLEVELAND....i believe they can beat any team in the league
I have a feeling Stan Van Gundy is going to be axed at the end of this season. Simply put it after watching the last series, he has no clue whatsoever how to use Dwight Howard in the post. Howard was right to call him out and demand the ball be given to him. It was like flashback of the Rockets 3 years ago when our pgs would forget Yao even played for our team. Stan is just as uncreative as his bother gollum gundy. A center like Howard comes along once in a decade, the magic should apply the Phil Jackson rule regarding Shaq which stated: the big fella MUST TOUCH the ball on every posession.
I think the general consensus is just that Garnett > Nelson, and further, that Garnett arguably meant more to the team identity and chemistry of the Celtics because he is the centerpiece that their strong defense revolved around. Seems like a perfectly logical thing to say to me.
