I've been thinking this myself. Look at the 2003 draft... 1st Pick - LeBron 2nd Pick - Darko (champion...technically) 3rd Pick - Carmelo 4th Pick - DWade (champion) It'd be pretty ironic if the Nuggets won it this year and only 6 years into all of their careers, #2, #3, and #4 all had a ring before #1. Just sayin'.
He did, i just hate when people use him in the same Sentence as Michael Jordan. He's on the rise, don't get me wrong.
Eve where in the hell have you been on this board? This MB is filled with Dwight Howard haters. Half of the people that hate him only hate him because they love Yao so much. We do have reasonable Dwight critics but a lot of them are Haters.
Stop putting Michael Jordan on an altar. LeBron James put in a performance today that was worthy of Michael Jordan in his prime. And he lost. Jordan didn't win every game either, believe it or not.
Nobody had referenced Michael Jordan until you said "Winners keep the ball in their hands", which was just a silly thing to say, really. MJ just happens to be a prime example of a winner, and his pass to Kerr in '97 just happens to be a prime example of why winners don't always keep the ball in their hands for the final shot. Your initial gripe had nothing to do with anyone comparing LeBron to Michael, by the way...
Well I did have a question for you, and that's is a healthy Yao Ming better than a healthy Dwight Howard according to you? I'm a little bit of both. Howard is certainly overrated though, I can easily argue that. EASILY.
Jordan lost in his 63 point game and yet it is revered as one of his finest performances. LeBron narrowly loses in this one and yet is called a choker and a loser. Cleveland will never win a championship with MO WILLIAMS as the second best player. They also need some frontcourt players that have a vertical over 25 inches.
Jordan also won 6 rings in six full seasons... not really a "choker" in that case. I'll agree that Lebron needs a Pippen. T
LeBron is 24 years old. At 24, Michael Jordan's record in the playoffs (through the '88 playoffs) was 4 wins, 16 losses. That's 3 first round defeats, and 1 second round defeat. I'm not interested in comparing LeBron to Jordan, but if someone's going to keep saying, "He's no Michael Jordan" on every post that little fact is worth pointing out.
You don't have to get started but facts are MJ needed a Pippen. LeBron has no Pippen. This is not a discussion about Pippin in Houston.
I disagree, sure Pippen was there those years, and wasnt there when MJ didn't make it. But you cant directly relate it to only Pippen.
As I've grown up, I've stopped trying to quantify players by stats to a particular degree, or to try and rank them numerically. Both Yao and Dwight have their strengths (injuries aside), and it really all comes down to who you have around them. I'd just say that if you have either on your team, your roster is off to a pretty good start.
