Eason has been great: his hustle, rebounding, and defense, he's even shooting around 35-37 3pt% to space the floor. His test will be developing his bag over time. A pull-up jumper, floater, step back, handle and moves, passing, etc. I would start with the handle first (both hands, crossover moves, step back, etc.) and everything will open up from there with the additional space creation.
Tari better hit those layups or else he will have a date with his mom, some rolled up newspaper and possibility some sandals.
My fear is he will be “Silassed” like Christopher is/was right now. It seems ALL of our newly acquired players come in show a ton of promise then their game changes. They try to fit in and lose the unique talents that made them look so special in the beginning. From Porter - Smith everyone has done it but Eason.
I think ultimately Eason is your starting 3. Quintessential glue guy who does a little bit of everything. For me, I'm comfortable with slipping him into the starting line now but Martin would object. I do think Tate would accept a backup role. With Smith starting to cash in on potential I doubt he's giving up the 4 spot. Teams are asking on Martin already, maybe that's the easy way out. Landing a Henderson or Wembanyama to bookend a Green-Eason-Smith core would be so huge.
What makes Tari special is that he makes an impact all over the court without needing any special conditions. He's really the only player on the team that will make an impact no matter what. Most of our other players have holes in their game, either offensively or defensively, that can make them a big liability if they're having an off night. Tari doesn't have off nights. He always contributes. I wouldn't be surprised if he had the longest career of anyone on this team.
