BTW, I was very keen to getting a new Prius in silver or white because I like the looks, and functionality of the 3rd generation, but now the Toyota meltdown has scared me a bit...(I don't like the looks of the other hybrid vehicles)...so who knows...

We've been over the Gore House thing several times before... security, offices for both Al and Tipper with staffs, quarters for visiting dignitaries, etc. Gore does not lead the same life you do and you can't slam him because of the size of his house. He can never be the guy net door. Besides, he's done a lot to convert it into an eco-friendly place.

I just find it curious that Gore is one of the few Americans (the only other one I can think of is Edwards) who gets criticized for living in a big house.

I think its reasonable, assuming Gore claims we must reduce our carbon footprint, to take him to task if he has an inordinately large carbon footprint. It would be the same thing as when a Republican senator claim gay people are evil before being felated by random men in airport bathrooms. If Barney Frank gets a BJ from some dude, it isn't news. When Rush Limbaugh does, it is a front page story.
