I agree with this post 100% and I think the poster is very intelligent and I have a feeling he or she is good looking too.

So all of you nice progressive people out there, please stay home and exercise your right to abstain from voting.

Took over an hour today at the West Gray location. :( Sigh. At least I'm done with it.

I must have been there right after you. It had sped up a bit with the lunch crowd dissipating, but it still took about an hour. Felt great to cast my vote for Obama again. :)

And the US has one of the lowest voter turnouts in the democratic world.
Nothing can be done to change that.

Sure we can. How about passing out free beer to anyone that shows up to vote? Gotta think outside the box.

    Sure we can.

Minnesota has the highest turnout in the US. Its not a coincidence. They have same day registration so anyone can show up on election day and vote. Across the river in North Dakota, they dont even have voter registration and they have vote by mail.

Oregon and Washington only conduction elections by mail and also have very high turnout.

For a state as large as Texas, not having an option to vote by mail is absolutely absurd. In addition, adding in same day registration would do wonders for turnout.
