I would hope that the Rockets have already learned from the Sixers about trading for broken down former all-stars with ridiculous contracts.

Kidd would be a nice fix for a few years, barring injuries. He'll get yao the ball, and he can rebound pretty well, plus we'll get a little more star treatment. my once concern would be how much $$$, and my second concern is, do we have to deal with his drama-queen wife and the excessive showboating of their kid.

This comment is music, and not heard since the halcyon days of Hakeem.

    I agree,
Kidd sucks, plus he couldn't hit a bucket during crunch time if the bucket looked like his wife.

even if we had kidd, doesn't mean will win a championship...i.e. ....CB, Hakeem, Drexler .....without the role players and the chemistry, it doesn't mean anything....

would be nice to have Kidd, but i this yr's draft is gonna be loaded and i'm not willing to part w/ our 1st, which NJ will definately want....

Rolling three All-starts together doesn't make a champion.

Kidd would not work with us...he's not a great defender, a horrible outside shooter. HE's a great passer.

But so is T-mac. And t-mac draws the double teams, so it's t-mac that really is the point guard in terms of the half court set. Jason Kidd's passing would be wasted.

We need a point guard like Damon Jones. One that can hit a jumper and penetrate and work WITH T-mac. That doesn't mean just feeding him for dunks.

Personally, I'd rather have a thugish althetic power forward to rebound, block shots, and chip in a solid 10-15 points a night - someone to be the opposite of the msotly finesse JW.

We don't need another super star with an ego (as all super stars do), we need a very good player who just wants to win.

See '96-'98 Rockets (Hakeem, Clyde, Barkley), oh yeah and the '98-'99 Rockets (Hakeem, Barkley, Pippen) Thats if you consider Quitten an all-star when he was with us.

Couldnt agree with you more, get me a PF that can be a physical force in the paint and get Yao's back every once in a while...

Damon Jones is as one-dimensional as a player can get. He's really not that different from Wesley, who is basically being exposed in this series as a one-dimensional shooter who is too short to guard decent SG's. I say we need another legit penetrator, one that is actually a threat to finish at the rim. Sura is our 2nd best penetrator, but I think he is only average in this department.

Jason Terry is a good example of the player we could use. He's a great shooter, but he's also really quick and can get to the rim. We just need someone who can take a little pressure off of Tmac by driving.

Who's guarding Terry? When Terry hits his 3's is it Sura or James who are on the court?

We need a 3rd scorer to cut down on the scoring droughts when the guards can't shoot for whatever reasons. Kidd is a bad scorer. Pass.

Kidd has always been a running point guard. He'll find the open man when he runs the break sure, but he's never played with a decent big man before. Can he play an inside outside , half court offense??

Dallas can have their thugs. I don't want any in Houston.

Dallas doesn't have thugs. They have floppers. And the best way to stop floppers is to have a thug on the floor to knock them on their ass when they try to flop.
