the point of getting kidd is to have someone who can consistently hit yao with good passes and tmac too (not to mention help on the boards a bit). if he could rework his contract (which i could see him doing so for a ring) i think it's worth it.

I would take him. We're not gonna be under the cap any time soon. His game is not based on jumping high, it's based on intelligence and skillful passing. Plus, he would have a very light burden compared to what he would have on a team as the 1st or 2nd star. His outside shot is probably the best it has ever been. He would add at least 5 ppg to Yao's stats and lessen the burden on Tmac.

All of you people need to get your collective hands out of your pants. :)

Kidd would be a luxury, but really this team only needs a few tweaks. An athletic forward and some depth on the bench and we're pretty much set.

I would like to see J Kidd in our uniform, but I don't think the contract situation'll work out. (I'm hoping J Kidd goes for less money and tries for a ring)

I agree. The Rockets need hops, speed, shooting, and aggressive rebounding. In other words, athletecism. Kidd is not that athletic.

if getting Kidd means getting a MUCH DESERVED ring and having David Stern handing us the trophy while being pelted by various things by Houston fans, sign me up.

I might be flamed for this, but Kidd isn't nearly as good as he used to be. I watched the Nets/Heats games and he's probably been reduced from All-star to great/good. Plus he's not that good of a shooter...

on the upside, he's definitely better than Sura, but we definitely shouldn't break our bankroll signing this guy.

Deke is actually making 18 million but his old team is footing the bill for most of it. Rox end up just paying him about 4.5 mil.

Yeah, and we didn't make any significant acquisitions.

There's the problem--you were watching the Nets. Put Yao and T-Mac in front of him and get back to me.

    LOOK HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who do you consider to be the best PG in the league? Jason the Kidd. He is the Trip Dub king and that means he is a complete player. T-Mac is a Top 5 player in the game today and Yao will be dominant. I know that we can have success without Jason but look at it this way. What has killed us in the 3 game skid to Dallas? It has been 4th Quarter efficiency, turnovers and free throws. We talk about the bullcorn officiating but nobody wants to talk about how our boys missed crutial gimmies at the end of the game (I KNOW T-Mac missed the last one on purpose to try to tie the game). Kidd is playoff experienced with 2 finals under his belt. He has never been on a team like he would be going to next season in H-Town. With Jason on our team I KNOW that we will succeed. Who is there to stop us? I don't care about 3 years from now when we MIGHT win a championship. Why not go out and get the hardware NEXT season. You know the saying 2 is company, 3 is a crowd? I believe that these 3 can work together to get it done. Our CROWD would only create headaches for the NBA and then MR. STERN aka Cuban, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, will have NOTHING to hold against Houston next season.

They'd probably want Spanoulis and Badiane. Spanoulis is mvp of the greek league. and Badaine, he's tearing it up for the frankfurters. No way we'd give up them guys. No deal.

You must be insane. Two unproven guys that most likely will never break into a starting lineup for an all star point guard? Possibly the best point guard in the NBA?

unproven? the euro leagues are where its at these days.. ok ok.. i guess we could make an exception but its going to be tough letting those young up and coming stars go.

so the Nets come away with the mvp of the greek league, the rising star of the frankfurters, bakers expiring contract, moochies expiring contract. sounds like a fair deal for both sides to me.
