I'd say McFadden, Ray Rice and Matt Ryan(BC's QB) are the three front runners right now.

Tebow. Absolutely without a doubt Tim Tebow at this point. Dixon IMO should be ahead of Slaton/White.

    Tebow
    M. Ryan
    Dixon
    McFadden

The thing about Bradford is he is playing behind an incredible offensive line. The line is as physical as any I've seen so far this season. Too early to make an opinion either way, but my early feeling is that a lot of QB's and RB's would look amazing behind that line. This is one Texas fan that watches OU and cringes at the thought of what might happen in Dallas in early October.

Got to bump my guy Tebow too. Some people may not realize, besides the crazy stats and the double threat, that he is seriously inspiring and leading the team as a whole. All those guys on the sideline love the guy's energy and enthusiasm, and I think it rubs off on them.

Tebow. He is leading the best team in the country, putting up gaudy numbers, and making it look easy. McFadden could slip in there, and Brennan will get some votes, but no one else is in contention.

All I know is that this is the most comfortable I've felt with an OU quaterback in 7 years. Thank god we finally a QB that is accurate and can make nice throws down the field, (I was never a big Jason White fan) and shows some emotion and fire out there. Plus, he does have decent mobility when he needs to, but our three stud runningbacks make that a minimal need, at best.

I don't know what Sam's Heisman chances are, and frankly, I don't care. That award is seriously tainted (Hell, White winning one was a bigger travesty that Vince not, if you ask me). I'm just glad we got a damn good QB for once.

Thank god OU's QB finally deserves the praise. I never understood the Bomar slurp job. Yes he was highly recruited. Yes he had tools. But he had no presence, no composure... Bradford has poise, he controls the offense well. Plays his game and does it with confidence. OU is nasty again and Texas is looking shaky.

    Tebow.

Kid is gonna be a touchdown machine this year. Big stats in the air, and big stats on the ground. If he stays consistent and UF has a big year, we might see a Soph win the award.

some of you guys are going to call me a texas homer, but seriously, why not jamaal charles as at least top five. he has over 1300 yards, 15 tds, and a 6.4 average per rush in a big time conference. his team is 9-2 and i think he is easily the best player on the team.

probably because he had a good 4-5 game streak there of less than 100 yards rushing vs. conference foes.

he tore it up non-conference and post-nebraska though

a little more consistency in the middle of the schedule and he'd be a frontrunner imo

I think you're dead on. Had he done this all season, save maybe one bad game, he'd be in the running. I don't think there is a clear cut front runner, and might not be at the end. It's going to be a tight race that will probably be determined on regional biases.

Can you believe that his one fumble has basically cost us a chance at the national championship? Of course, that assumes that the rest of the OU game goes the our way (that's for you bobrek).

Dude has turned it up though, it's been impressive.

He'll be a frontrunner next year, not this year. He came on a little too late, while guys like McFadden, Brennan, Tebow, etc. were getting all the hype.

Oh, I didn't mean to make it sound like I put all the blame on Charles for that game, it was just that one play sticks out so much.

It's amazing that what's seemed like such a down year and they'll still end up with 10+ wins and a nice bowl game, possibly even a BCS bowl.

Little too late for Jamaal to be in the running. If he comes back next year...he should be the frontrunner. And if these last couple games are any indicator of what's to come...he'll be in for a record breaking season.

As for this year...my vote goes to Dixon. He's been VY-like for the #2 team in the nation. Tebow's 3 losses really hurt for what's been a unbelievable statistical season. McFadden gets my 2nd vote.

My prediction looking pretty good so far!!! Looks like Tebow will throw for over 3,000 yards, rush for around 800-900, he'll break the single-season QB rushing TD record, and he'll log over 50 overall TDs.

Dixon's to lose (assuming Ore wins out).

2005-2006 year make up vote for the Vince-lite.
